Read moreThe waitresses were nice. I had one lady with brown hair and she was super nice and friendly. Very respectful.
It was not busy when I went.
They make their tortillas fresh and the sauces.
The food I give a 3/5. I cook a lot of authentic Mexican food so to eat Mexican food outside of my home from a restaurant usually isn’t very enjoyable for me. Their food is the closet you will get to the authentic flavor in Asheboro but it’s still not what I’m used too. It is better than most of the Americanized Mexican restaurants in the area though. My kids ordered bean burritos. My kids are used to beans in a corn tortilla with queso fresco so when they brought them out gigantic bean burrito in a flour tortilla covered in cheese sauce they were shocked hahaha 😂 they liked them though. They did NOT skimp on the size for sure.
I ordered the enchiladas with cheese and grilled chicken on the side. I feel it needed more salt and maybe more chilis in the sauce. I felt something was missing but it wasn’t bad either. Not spicy at all. I like spicy and the waitress caught on to that without me saying so and brought me salsa picosa which I very much appreciated. So if you look for spicy ask for the orange one. I liked the flavor of the green one more but it wasn’t spicy to me. Probably to other people though. I recommend the green salsa as well. The portion size was very good. I will have leftovers for lunch today. My kids will too from their burritos haha. So we got full meals each from their serving size. So you get your money’s worth.
Speaking of money, I felt the prices were very reasonable with the portion sizes they give and fresh ingredients.
I did NOT like the chips and salsa. Personal preference. I just didn’t like the salsa and the chips just didn’t taste good to me.
The horchata was rich. Very tasty. I would stop in just to get an horchata here.
I would return here with my...
Read moreWent today with my mother, kids, and brothers. We all ordered burritos. Ordered 1 appetizer of guacamole to me it tasted like watered down lime sherbert. To everyone else at the table it tasted like leaves. I didn't complain because that is truly not my style. The burritos came out they all had queso on them. Both my son and daughter didn't ask for queso. My daughter enjoys queso so not a big deal, I will pay the extra $1. My son on the other hand does not like queso. So after having him try mine to see if he will eat it,he tells me he doesn't like it. I politely ask the waiter to please exchange it because my son will not eat it. The waiter takes it to the back and comes out with one without queso. I told the waiter thank you and I really appreciate it. We resume our meal. When we are done the Waiter Russ bring us our checks. With our checks cones a ton of attitude. He says, "Tell me next time your kid doesn't want queso! Because now I have to pay for it." I said, "On the menu it says queso is extra. And you never asked him if he wanted it." In the same attitude he responds, "Fair but I assumed because everyone else was getting it...." He then proceeded to have attitude the rest of the time we were trying to leave. I wanted to tip him nothing but still tipped him something because I know sometimes tips are shared. He did not deserve it. And we will never be back. $40 for 3...
