If I were able to make a minus rating I would. My 17 year old daughter wanted to go there for her birthday lunch. We were seated at the booth, everything was great. Waitress/Hostess were also very polite. Then as we were eating, our order was for 2 South West Chicken salads both with ranch dressing, and my daughter ordered chicken alfredo, we also ordered a ordered of cheese sticks to share, which were not hot. Then I ordered my husband as a take out, the neighborhood cheese burger with a side salad, with ranch dressing as well, to be brought out as we were finishing up our lunch. I was doing an email real quick before eating, please take notice of NONE OF US HAD FRENCH FRIES with our order. As soon as I got finished up with my email, after my mom and daughter had already started eating, I poured my dressing on top of my salad, and saw an odd shaped object in the cup of ranch. I put it on a napkin to see what it was, it was a partially eaten fry! There seriously was a bite taken out of the fry. With the teeth marked indentation on it, I flagged down my waitress to show her. I asked to have the salad removed from the check, and the burger as well. She went to get the store manager, who came out, then stood there and told me to my face, "that oh it was only a fry." That the fryer for the fries is located directly on top of where the cold salad dressing were kept. That of course he would take off the salad, "would I care for some brownie bites!" I asked him, "do you really think that I would eat anything else from this store, when it's only a half eaten fry in my ranch!" He said well, "let me make you a new!". Jesus Christ, he was dense. Again I said no, I would just like the check, every restaurant that I ever worked for would have said no charge, I am truly sorry. But not this guy, I even told him, look my daughter couldn't finish her lunch, and my poor Mom, she stopped eating immediately, we all did.I"Yes but it is only a fry," he said and walks away. Then the waitress came out to my table with the burger wrapped and ready to go. I again said no thanks, please take it off my check as well. So she had the cashier remove it from the check, then she brought me the check, which again, any other restaurant would have said lunch is covered, at the least. But nope I was handed a check for almost $53.00, I paid her in cash, and as I walked out the door, the manager was standing at the register, questioning why I had returned the burger. She was mumbling to him, I said as I walked by, loud enough for him to hear me, "that because I couldn't be sure that only an half eaten fry, or something worse was in the other food items." He tried to rub my shoulder, which I dodged, and said, "please don't touch me," he said please come back. I then told him while standing in the door way, I would never be back, and I would make absolutely 💯 sure none of my family members or friends would return to his store. So please go onto the Buncombe County Health violation page, and look up some of the disgusting things on there, like storing uncooked chicken in the walk in above cooked meat. That's...
Read moreService was great....never had an issue until tonight. I also never post public reviews about a place. However I wanted to try something different on the menu and I selected the NEW BBQ brisket taco's. Now granted I'll give the benefit of the doubt that we went in 30 mins before closing but still no excuse. I myself work at a restaurant and my owner is strict about one thing....even if a customer walks in at 5 mins till closing they WILL receive the same quality, portions, and overall perfect presentation of food as if it was opening time. The appetizers we got were absolutely perfect...hot...came out in a reasonable time. The waitress was great by all means.....I also didn't let the kitchen mistake reflect her tip because I know how it is. Anyways back to the taco's. The first time there was literally half a teaspoon full of meat in each taco. Comes with 3. The rest of the taco was smothered in cheese, grease, and mexi-ranch sauce. It comes with crispy onions as well but they were soggy due to all the mess. The waitress came over and I informed her that I NEVER complain about anything in a restaurant....have always just dealt with it but explained to her there was no meat hardly and was just an overall mess with the sauce and grease. She had the kitchen make more. By now it's 11:56pm...they close at 12:00am. A female manager brings them back out to me "freshly made" and tells me that in the future if I ordered these I would receive the same amount of meat because they were pre-portioned but she gave me double the meat this time. Ok fine whatever. The picture below shows the 2nd round I got. And yes while there was more meat, was still a soggy greasy saucy mess. Some people may enjoy that kind of sloppiness but I would give this particular entree a 1 star rating specifically because it looks like they were just thrown together in a hurry all because the kitchen and manager was ready to go home and didn't care what it looked like. I wouldn't recommend this particular dish late at night....might come out better during the day I don't know. Overall I still paid full price...didn't bother asking for my money back and still tipped our waitress very well and treated her with respect. 3 stars only because while she was great and our service and apps were great, the kitchen staff and manager could use some lessons in food quality and presentation. Have ate at this Applebee's for over 9yrs...first bad...
Read moreMy mother, sister and I were traveling back home after a day trip to Tennessee when we stopped at this location. We were told a 20-30 minute wait, which we were fine with. While waiting, the young man that ended up being our server went up to the host stand and began talking to the hosts (one of which was acting very unprofessional). He made a comment that we didn’t quite hear and then asked us if we were nice (red flag #1). He escorted us to the table he was told to take us to by the female hostess and asked if he could get our drinks, brought our drinks a few minutes later and then took our appetizer order. When the appetizer came, he did not bring plates or silverware (red flag #2). I asked 2 times for silverware and he had a host bring it to us (red flag #3). Once our food order was out, he disappeared for about ten minutes (red flag #4). When he came to check on us, I had to ask him for a refill on my water when he should have automatically brought a water when my drink was half full (red flag #5). He dropped my water off and went to clean the two other tables in section and blatantly ignored us to the point that we grabbed our own to go boxes because they were sitting on a ledge next to the table (red flag #6). Once we boxed our food, he turned around and asked if we wanted dessert, we responded no, we asked for the check, two to go drinks and a bag for our boxes. He brought my sister and mom their to go drinks and blatantly stated that he was going to stand there while we paid the check (red flag #7). When my sister picked up her sweet tea, she noticed there was no ice and no lemon (which she had asked for). He tried to make excuses as to why there was no ice or lemons in her tea when he returned for my mom to sign the receipt (red flag #8). She cut him off and told him not to do that. We also noticed while eating that there were several dirty tables that sat untouched around for almost our entire 30 minute meal. We did not leave a very good tip. Since I am a former server for a different chain, I have very high standards when it comes to how a server should appear, act, and treat their guests/customers. Wearing a puffy hoodie vest does not meet those standards and faking a nice attitude doesn’t...
