If you’re hunting for that cozy “Luke’s Diner” vibe in West Asheville, Papa Dunk’s Family Kitchen is it. Retro 50s oldies on the speakers, warm smiles at the counter, and actually reasonable prices in West Asheville—win, win, win.
We came on day two of opening and loved it. The Breakfast Club sandwich hit the spot, the non-dairy shake was downright delicious and served in a classic shake cup, and the coffee (Dynamite Coffee) was excellent—and only three bucks. Menu’s stacked: breakfast all day, Reuben sandwiches, salads, classic egg cream, fresh-squeezed OJ (they’ve got the machine right there), $5 milkshakes, plus hotcakes/pancakes/waffles with eggs, bacon, or sausage around $14, and chicken & waffles for $15. It’s an easy call for breakfast or lunch.
The space feels homey and cozy—exactly the kind of spot you want to become a regular at.
