We went on a Friday night and there weren't many people there. It was warm so we ate outside.

We got the Braised Rib of Beef with crispy sweet potato and little onions and it was INCREDIBLE. Honestly one of the best things I've eaten in a while.

We went back with 4 people the next night because it was SO good and we all couldn't believe just how good it was. It's really rich and filling.

We also got the Hazelnut Custard and it was also amazing. It was SO smooth.

The bread and honey butter was also lovely.

The house made soft cheese was a ricotta with a few mix-ins and was lovely. I ate it with the beef occasionally and it added a nice brightness to refresh my palette.

The Onion Tarte Tatin was also very rich. I ate half and saved the other half for later and warmed it up the next day. It didn't keep well and was very oily. Even though it's just one slice, I'd suggest sharing it so you don't have leftovers.

The only thing I wouldn't suggest is the Mushroom Braised with Rosemary and Carrots. It was bland and was mostly small button mushrooms in a broth so it felt like eating mushroom cereal. Though, we ate very late near closing so we could have just had an off night for the dish.

The atmosphere inside was amazing. It felt comfortable, luxurious, and intimate. It's perfect for a date night.

Overall, it's one of the best places I've eaten in years. I...

Wow, as an owner of a business I rarely review negatively in public but in this case I feel the need. Came in with 2 tables ahead of us only one had food. Ordered a drink which was poorly mixed and food. App came out timely and was tasty, entrée’s took almost and hour, for a cheese plate and a piece of braised beef. Server came by once during the 45 minutes between app and entrée to fill water, had to ask another server for a refill and got warm water. Asked about entrée’s and after being told they were coming up waited 10 more minutes. Cheese plate a basic blue and two thin slices, 5 slices of bread and Marion berry preserve. No explanation of what was on the plate. Braised beef was good. Price was high for what you get but expected in a trendy bar. Had to get up and ask for the bill only to find out they had an 18 percent living wage fee / mandatory gratuity that was not mentioned even when the bill was presented. Had to ask for an itemized receipt to see why there was almost 20 dollars unexpected charge. They noted it is on the last page of the menu in small print under the odds and ends of the menu. Then had the nerve to ask for additional tip. For no service. Would not return. If you can't fund a living wage on the first $80 for small plates the extra fee isn't...

The butternut tarte tatin was tasteless, not hot or cold, room temperature. It was neither salty or sweet. I haven't quite had something so bland at a restaurant before. The shortcrust pastry was completely raw in the center. It was beautiful, but that was all it had going for it. No balance, just bland. The Bees Knees cocktail was fantastic as well as the view. Service is not on par with other establishments in the same price range. Waited for about 5ish minutes in the lobby with multiple staff present at the bar and hotel check in station before someone acknowledged I was there. No check in after the food was delivered, or when I finished my cocktail and water. When asking for the bill and paying at the counter, they did discount the tarte so there was that. Had really high hopes for this place because Pickled Fish is one of my favorites and they're under the same ownership. No one was rude, just not attentive service. Would have a cocktail there again...not so sure about food. Popped to another restaurant afterwards as I left full of a cocktail and in need...

You had us at sea lions. 💦🌈🦭 Our recent getaway with the @bowline.hotel was easily one of the most magical stays we’ve had in the Pacific Northwest. The Knot in Astoria is a charming and quaint spot with stunning views and quirky decor that adds to its unique ambiance. We enjoyed the sights and sounds of live seals outside, serenading us with their sweet calls. Katie, our server, was fantastic—knowledgeable and full of local insights. The espresso martini was delicious, and overall, it’s definitely a place worth stopping by when visiting Astoria. Highly recommended!
