The Madison Bar and Bistro — Restaurant in Athens-Clarke County Unified Government

I can't rate the food because my order never came. I inquired three separate times but no entree. Finally, as they were passing out to-go boxes to everyone else I was asked if I wanted them to box my entree for take home. I told them to just cancel the order. I had already waited 45 minutes and we were preparing to have dessert. The meeting room was small and offered no privacy as it opens to the bar area. Everyone passing through could hear our birthday celebration. There was a curtain to separate the room but it was kept open the entire time. The two servers were very good but just couldn't get the food out. Despite me asking three times for my entree, they kept saying "it's coming". It was overall a bad experience. I will never come here again. We will plan future events where they are experienced with parties of 12. The menu is simple bar food (sandwiches, salads, and only 1-2 dinner entrees) so I'm not sure what the problem was. The manager offered no explanation, she just comped my half salad. Have visited a few times while staying at the Indigo. Waitstaff extremely friendly and accommodating at breakfast and bar (never tried dinner here). Great place to eat. Unlike Hilton breakfast this place is the real deal. Nice vegaterian options. And the Grits are actually southern grits. Not that waffle...
