We were visiting in Athens TN and saw the Dairy Barn and thought we would have some ice cream after having lunch and a visit with part of our family at the regional park to observe social distance. We arrived at the Dairy Barn to find the line starting on the roadway. We thought that if the place was popular, it must be good. We were right, it was good. We found all of the outside seating, the walk up ordering, and the restrooms to be closed off for safety. Drive through only was available. The menu was extensive and I ordered a hot fudge sundae and my wife ordered a root beer float. Both were very good, however my wife commented that she would of liked more root beer and less ice cream. The price was very reasonable and service was quick over all. I will go again when...

Went through the drive-through last night ordered a hot fudge sundae, large with extra hot fudge and crushed pineapples. The hot fudge sundae that’s large cost 4.25 it’s $.75 for extra hot fudge and $.75 for crushed pineapple. The lady gave me a total of 820. I got to the window and asked her why it went from 4:25 to 820. She said that I ordered a hot fudge cake. I let her know that I did not order that I ordered a hot fudge sundae. She gave me a rude attitude as she was shutting the window. She looked at another employee and said now she’s saying she ordered a hot fudge sundae very rude. here lately the rudeness has gotten to be out of hand. I only hope the owners can handle this and make it more inviting and friendly for...

The Dairy Barn!!! Everyone who lives within 40sq miles knows about the dairy barn! We wait 6 months (on average) during the Winter for the Dairy Barn to open in March, just to wait in line for 30+ minutes to order and it's worth the wait! The Dairy Barn is a symbol for us locally. Opening represents Spring is almost here and then, closing at the end of September or beginning of October is an indication, summer is over and cold weather will soon be here..... The food is great and the teenagers who work here know what it means to work at the Very busy Dairy Barn. There's never a slow day. The poor girls stay extremely busy and they still greet everyone with respect and politeness.. keep up the great...

We took a little trip to the dairy barn in Athens, Tennessee. Food was great and a great price. Also, the dessert was amazing. As we were sitting there eating our food we looked over and saw two kittens out in the parking lot so we went to rescue them from being hit by a car come to find out. They actually rode to the dairy barn from their owners house underneath their car and in the engine Bay Area and dropped out of the bottom when the car pulled up to the drive-through to place an order and we ended up chasing the kittens around the whole property and ended up getting a free dessert from the owner (on the house desert at the end). #jeeplife #food #travel #adventure #restaurant

This place is wonderful. Over the past 20+ years I have traveled to Athens from Cleveland for school and work. I had always seen The Dairy Barn but never stopped by. Just a month ago I moved to a house 5 minutes from The Dairy Barn and I'm not sure it's a good thing because I've already been there 3 times in that short amount of time for ice cream. šŸ˜‚ But this place is great, really old school ice cream place with so many treats that the hardest part is finding what I want! Everything I've gotten is great and my wife is OBSESSED with the hot fudge. I'm sure the hot food is good but I haven't been able to get past the ice cream enough to try anything.

Hot fudge cake was amazing. Onion rings are beer battered and large. Corn dog is state fair brand and just a regular corn dog. Coke tasted a little off. Overall, very good hole in the wall. The line to the drive thru was backed out into the street the entire time. The line to the walk up ordering was also backed up but they move you through pretty quickly. Was told about this place by a co-worker that’s son just flew to town and ubered here to get a hot fudge cake for his birthday this week. Then flew the plane back. That’s impressive. There is covered outdoor seating as well as restrooms.
