ALDI — Local services in Athens

The cashier Chelsea is an absolute sweetheart. We go there because she is always friendly, kind, and caring to us, and she pays attention to our kids. (I don't mind paying the quarter for the buggy, you get it back when you return the cart-which helps eliminate buggies allover the parking lot and lessens the chance of my car getting hit by one. I also don't mind bringing my own bags, as many places are talking about doing away with bags and adding more self check outs). I've never had a problem with their food quality, nor the freshness of their food. It's not as big of a store as Walmart, so its selection is more limited, but I like several items they offer, and they are cheaper priced. Their produce is always fresh, and the store is well maintained. My only complaint is that their management needs to learn how to speak appropriately to their employees, and if there's an issue, not do it in front of customers or...

We're visiting the area from out of state, and mostly shop at Aldi. Basically, if you're an Aldi shopper, this store is representative of just about all of them. Compared to our stores back home in Pennsylvania, however, this store didn't appear to have quite as many of the artisan products we are used to having. Unlike our stores back home, this one does have wine and beer for sale! This could be why it lacks on the other items we are used to finding at Aldi. The adult beverages certainly take up some real estate. My only complaint is there we LOTS and LOTS of flies buzzing around and inside the produce storage area where the potatos and onions are kept. Lots of great deals! Their Aldis brand version of several name brands are neck to neck in quality and a lot cheaper in price. Found quite a few things even cheaper than Walmart,my usual go-to shopping for deals( example, Aldi's sliced cheese. Cheaper and way better tasting!) Also, I've noticed a lot of the Aldis brand products have a cleaner ingredients list than the name brand comparator, something that is very important for my family.
