I had been telling everyone around the office about a Whiting fish Supreme Sandwich on a po boy bun, so I Had a lunch date this week and decided to treat my date to Whiting Supreme po boy Sandwich. So I called and placed an order for just that for me and her the lady took my order and asked if there was anything else I said no, she ask how far away I was and I told her and she said that my order would be twenty minutes I said fine and hung up the phone. When I arrived at the store I went to the counter and paid for my order, then I had to wait an additional fifteen minutes all ready disappointed at this point. When I got my order I went to my auto and the bag looked funny/odd to be a wraped po boy sandwich so I carried the bag back in side the store and told the lady at the counter that I had phoned in an order for two sandwichs on po boy buns and that buy or eat those sandwichs on regular bread. The lady said sir the management has a new policy and they don't serve regular sandwichs on po boy buns anymore I said that's fine but why wasn't I told that when I placed my order and came all the way to your store for nothing. She only offerd me a refund that was so insensitive to me at that point I would have paid extra for the po boy bun just save face with my date. So I think that your store should give the customer the opertunity to pay a few cents more for what they want it's only good business and customers will keep...
Read moreYesterday evening, I visited Ameen’s Fish & Wings and ordered the 6-piece catfish snack, which came with three hush puppies. Let me just say, the seasoning on the catfish was outstanding! The fish was perfectly fried, with just the right amount of breading—enough to enhance the flavor without overpowering the delicate, delicious fish. I’ve tried fried catfish at countless restaurants, including some that are far more expensive, but none compare to the quality here. Even other Ameen’s locations don’t match the taste of this one, except for the M.L.K. Jr. Drive location, which comes very close.
The hush puppies were a complete game changer! Unlike the dense or sometimes dry hush puppies I’ve had elsewhere, these were perfectly crispy on the outside, with a fluffy, soft, and flavorful interior. They were seasoned to perfection and paired wonderfully with the fish.
I had hoped to order their fried whole wings as well, which are always fresh and never disappoint, but I arrived a little too late. Understandably, those wings take around 20 minutes to cook fresh.
This spot is hands-down my go-to for fried catfish, hush puppies, and fried whole wings. If you’re a fan of perfectly seasoned seafood and comfort food done right, this restaurant deserves a place on your...
Read moreWell, I have been buying bean pies all week for my family and I went to drive thru initially and asked for a whole bean pie and the cashier said they did not have any more. Something did not sit right with me so I proceeded to park my car and go inside of the restaurant. As I walk to the counter, there is a whole bean pie plus an extra slice there. I asked a different cashier can I have a whole bean pie. She said this is all we have and we want to save it for the other customers that may want a slice of bean pie. She also told me that I can a couple slices of pie because when they get down to the last slice they sell it individually. I was offended to say the least. I said I have have a family of five that I am getting this for and I have been buying from here all week. The initial cashier that I was talking to thru drive thru said I don’t need to get smart. I felt like these cashiers (black women) did not want me to spend my money there as there was a line of black men behind me and I am assuming that they wanted to service them with the pie and other items over me. They were super nice to the men and not to me. Such a shame that these two cashiers acted like this. Shame on them! Nevertheless I payed for all of the bean pie...
