American Deli — Restaurant in Atlanta

Only giving 1 star because I can't give zero. I've been going to this place for years and it used to be excellent. But unfortunately, management has changed several times and it's gotten progressively worse. In the past year, there have been at least five different occasions when I’ve tried to get dinner only to be told the grill is already closed. They close at 9:00 and each time, I had arrived before 8:00-8:30.

Knowing their history of closing the grill early and really wanting a cheesesteak, we decided to give them another try and went in tonight at 7:30. When I first walked in the guy behind the grill visible sighed, making it obvious he wasn’t interested in waiting on us. Before even asking what we wanted, he said it would be 25 minutes before anything could be ready. There were no other customers in the store and nothing on the grill, so not sure why anything would take that long. But I said no problem, we needed to go next door to Kroger anyway, so I could swing back through and pick it up. Again, another sigh before he finally asked what we wanted. When I said three Philly combos, he immediately said sorry, grill is closed. Again, it was 7:30 on a Thursday and they don’t close until 9:00. At this point I was very hangry and well, let’s just say Jesus did not take the wheel when I responded.

And all this is overlooking that the place is never clean, the furniture and the door handle are often broken, and no one is ever friendly when I'm in there. I guess shame on me for going there in the first place since obviously they don't care about their store or their customers.

This American Deli has officially been added to our never again list. The only other restaurant around that is on that list is the disastrous Burger King in this same shopping center. For those of you who know about that BK, you’ll know how bad it is to be put in their same category.

This only gets 1star because there was no lower rating I could give it to get on the platform. A Staff of 4 people were there behind the counter when entered the restaurant one of whom had just walked behind the counter from outside. I was immediately taken aback by all the horse play going on between the staff behind the counter. At one point, the cook was on the floor while others simulated attacking him. I made my order paid and waited as I thought the climate would change. Arguments pursued among the staff about who was going to do what task with all the expletive language included. At one point a fifth person appeared behind the counter whom I assumed was upper manager or the owner. The arguing continued as one employee was heard saying that she was not making no sandwich and “ I’m a saying this in front of Kim.” Kim walks out with bag of trash not to be seen again by me. By this time twenty minutes have lapse, although it seemed like a never ending nightmare. At this point I requested a full refund and refused the sandwich which was already made; I’m still waiting on the rest of the order. Who appears but the manager on duty. One of the 4. He fumblers at the register and proceeds to give me a voided receipt for my purchase. As I give my reason and complained about what I had seen, my argument was countered with more nonsense. As I checked my funds account, I see where I was still charged. I plan to appeal this through my bank. Never again...

I called in a 10 piece wing combo on my lunch break and was told that my order would be ready in 10 minutes. I specifically requested for my wings to be EXTRA EXTRA crispy. The representative answering the phone told me that my order would be ready in 10 minutes. I wait 15 minutes because they normally exaggerate the pickup time and then drive to the restaurant which is about 10 minutes. Upon arrival, I was told that my order wasnt ready and that they would have to cook it!!! (At this point Im thinking, WHY TELL ME IT WOULD BE READY IN 10 MINUTES THEN) So I wait an additional 15 minutes for them to prepare the order. The casher gives me the order and I leave, only to realize that she had not given me the everything in my order!! I turn around and go back and pick up the rest of the items, only to get back to my job to bite into fatty, nasty wings. I called the restaurant and the manager said that once you put lemon pepper sauce on the wings they lose their crispiness.!!! REALLLY!?!?!?! I HAVE ONLY BEEN EATING WINGS FOREVER AND THIS IS A TOTAL LIE! Needless to say, I believe that this facility has recently changed management because the wings and services used to be great. I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN!!! They are beyond...
