My wife and I visited Beachwood Tavern this afternoon to enjoy a drink and watch the UGA football game. Unfortunately, our experience was deeply disappointing. Despite being seated for several sets of downs, no bartender approached us to take our order or even acknowledge our presence. Frustrated by the complete lack of service, we decided to leave. As we were exiting, the general manager, Mr. Collins, asked why we were leaving so soon. We explained the absence of bartender service, but the interaction did little to salvage the experience. It’s disheartening to see a new neighborhood tavern off to such a rocky start. Based on this visit, I’m skeptical about its long-term success. In contrast, we headed to Lasiter’s Tavern in Vinings, where we were promptly welcomed, served drinks, and enjoyed excellent food with plenty of seating. Read moreThis place is absolutely amazing, and it’s definitely an awesome addition to Atlanta’s dining scene. It feels much more elevated than just a tavern. It has a great atmosphere, a gorgeous patio, and the bathrooms are beyond adorable. You can tell the details were really thoughtfully executed.
We tried a bunch of different items, but by far my favorites were the deviled eggs and cheddar biscuits. They were comforting and unique at the same time with really good flavors. The bacon jam was an amazing addition. The salad with the beets and the labneh was really fresh tasting and light, and all the flavors worked well together. The fish sandwich was solid, and the chicken kabob was perfectly cooked and juicy. The drinks were well made and strong.
