Found this place on tik tok, and IG. I really enjoyed the food. I ordered the buttermilk chicken which comes with two sides. My sides were collard greens and yams. My daughter ordered the shrimp pasta and added chicken. The collard greens were delicious, and the Yams were very good! The fried chicken were the small wings, but they were crispy and just enough of them to fill you up. The pasta had a strong kick, but my daughter and I are spice lightweights. The flavors were excellent especially in the sauce
In reference to your wait, or the time, I'll start of with saying to keep in mind they are a newly opened location. They are still working on time management and a smoother flow and execution. I recommend ordering online as it seems online orders take priority. I arrived at 1:45pm on a sunday thinking it would allow for quicker processing once they opened at 2pm. Myself and 4 other women were the first ones in. We placed our orders and waited in our cars. There is only ordering room inside, so prepare to wait in your car or walk around MLK. The food was not ready until 3:15pm. Many people who ordered online had their food before myself and the other ladies. I was informed that the grilled chicken, (for the pasta), would take a while early on, so I was appreciative of the communication and knew we would have a bit of a wait. I was not thinking it would be as long as it was, but i wasn't in a hurry. I was worried that due to the volume that the cashier would forget I was waiting, so I ended up going in to stand off to the side.
I'm willing to return, but I'd be more prepared for the wait, and I'd prefer to order online. The Chef was definitely keeping his team on task, so I think in about a year they'll be moving a lot smoother. Their goal is to cook everything fresh, but that may have to be reconsidered as a to-go place, or have heating pads that keep meat that's pre-cooked hot and fresh for...
Read moreI was so excited to finally try Chef Marcus after seeing all the rave reviews on TikTok. I drove 5 hours to Atlanta and made sure to get there on a Sunday right before opening. They open at 2pm and I was second in line at 1:37pm. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t match the hype. The Toast ordering system was down, so my order was handwritten on a clipboard. I originally wanted the oxtails, but was told they wouldn’t be ready for another hour, which confused me since it was opening time. I decided on the chicken wings with sides for myself, my mom, and my daughter. The wait was supposed to be 20–25 minutes. By 2:47pm, I still hadn’t been called, while other people were coming in and leaving with their food. I went back inside, only to be told my pasta was still being finished. At that point, the oxtails were suddenly ready, so I was offered a small side of them as a courtesy (which I appreciated). Still, I didn’t get my full order until about 3:15pm, well over an hour after being one of the first in line. Now, the food itself: •Greens – Everyone online said they were over-seasoned, but mine had no seasoning at all. No smoked turkey or flavor in sight •Pasta – Rushed, little to no sauce, just tasted like pepper •Yams – Sweet, tender, and really good. •Chicken wings – Good •Oxtails (side) – The star of the meal! Tender, flavorful, and definitely worth the hype •Mac and cheese - It was cool I never saw Chef Marcus while I was there, which might explain why things felt a little unorganized. The food wasn’t bad, but it didn’t live up to the glowing reviews I’d seen. I’ll give them another shot for them oxtails if I’m...

First off brother, ur food is amazing! I drove an hour to support ur business. First time I came was on 9/24 around 6pm. Got the oxtails, cabbage and Mac. When I say I damn near ate all dem oxtails n da parking lot….oh my goodness. So good, tender, just the taste I was looking for since moving to Georgia 4 years ago! I’m from Jersey and I couldn’t find a spot that could match what I’m used to. But on dat day, I was elated. So boom….I needed some more of that same great taste. I told myself I was gonna get the same platter and try something else. I came back on Saturday, 9/27 around 5pm. Idk who was making this food dat day but it was NOT what I had the first time. The oxtails were so rough. I could hardly eat them. The Mac and cabbage had like a spoiled type taste. I couldn’t even eat it. I didn’t feel it was safe to eat. I threw my whole platter in the garbage.
I understand that u can’t just sit in there and make the food all day everyday but PLEASE ensure that the quality of ur food stays consistent cause for me to drive an hour for a platter I had to throw away made me furious. I gave the 3 stars because the first experience was amazing and I don’t want to disregard that. But I’m not sure I would come back there after my last experience because it was sooooo different that I would be reluctant to drive that far again for the same poor...
