We were so excited to visit this restaurant based on food reviews and I am sad to say because of the service we received there is almost no chance we will be back.

It took us thirty minutes to order our main dishes and another 30 to finally receive the peas and rice that was supposed to come with our jerk chicken. 30 minutes for rice and peas!! Only for my rice to be undercooked and starchy, and some of her rice to be completely uncooked an

We addressed the issues with 2 different staff members, and after 30 more minutes addressed it with a 3rd. The service was so slow, we decided that the possibility of waiting 30 more minutes for a simple dessert wasn't worth it!!

Fritters- 3⭐️ These were good but need some type of sauce or dip with them. Chicken dumplings 4⭐️ These were actually pretty good. Jerk Chicken 4⭐️ The Chicken was great, very flavorful and tender The accompanying veggies were odd for a Caribbean dish- bok choy and steam carrot. Plantains 5⭐️ They did an amazing job with the Plantains. Rice & Peas 1⭐️ Awful, inedible, my friends were so undercooked they were crunchy.

House Margarita 5⭐️ Whoever made the drinks were the star.

We spent #foodiefridays at @jouvertkitchenatl this week. I have to warn you the review is not a good one, as the restaurant was a big disappointment.

Before we get to the food let's start with the biggest problem which was the customer service. First it took us about 30 minutes to get our drinks. Then, it took us another 30 minutes to get a food menu because the menus aren't laminated and stain easily. Once we did order food, our plantains came out before the rest of our main dish, and we had to ask for the rice and peas that were supposed to come with it!!

Once we received our rice and peas, one plate was undercooked and one was crunchy and areas of the rice was completely uncooked!! We asked for new rice and peas and never received it. Asked for a manager 3 times and waited 30 minutes, no manager!! The food wasn't bad, but we will never be back!!

Here is what we had: House margarita ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ This was great! So we had two. It made up for the fact it took 30 minutes to get one!! 😂😂😂😂

Chicken veggie dumpling ♥️♥️♥️♥️ It was good. More like pot stickers, not dumplings but still good.

Codfish fritters ♥️♥️♥️ These were just okay. Kind of lack luster. They were pretty dry and didnt come with a dipping sauce or anything, and they need it.

Yahd Mon Jerk Chicken ♥️♥️♥️♥️ The jerk Chicken was actually delicious!! The market veggies was unseasoned bok choy and carrots which was really weird. Dish drops on do to the horrible rice.

Rice & Peas ♥️ Undercooked, one plate of rice was hard and crunchy. In the running for worse rice we have had in Atlanta. A manager never came to address it, even after we waited 30 minutes for a replacement!!

Overall the food was okay, and the actual restaurant was beautiful. The disorganization and poor customer service will ensure we never spend money here again!! Its a shame. We would only revisit if the meal was free because we didnt get our monies worth this time. Visit one of the other restaurants on this strip, you will probably get much better customer service.

First time at this particular restaurant for both of us I was visiting Atlanta. My food order was not the best. Initially I couldn't decide if I wanted to do the shrimp and grits, so I asked to sample the grids to ensure able to what I would like to eat instead of ordering something and sending it back, I was told by my server, "we don't sample here". Cool so I change my order, to the vegetable omelette with the salad and I ordered a side order of fries. The person I was with also ordered a oxtail grilled cheese which they didn't have. Something else you wanted as well, but they didn't have either, so she ended up ordering callaloo with lump crab and a vegetable omelette. As we were sitting and waiting for my our orders, The young man serving the food to the customers, his pants was up under his behind and his boxers was exposed with his apron covering the front, not a good sight. When mentioned to the waitress she said something to him and he adjusted himself. As we were waiting again for the food to come out. I observed that the young man with a basket of fries, a omelette and salad go over to the another table, as they quickly told him that was not their order. He went back with the kitchen area and then came back with their correct order for that table Few minutes later he proceeded to bring the same order to our table and it was my order, he apologized but said they didn't touch it, which I saw that they did not, but that just didn't sit well with me, I accept it anyway the omelet was over cooked because it had brown on it from the skillet being to hot or cooking to long,. My omelette didn't have but one or two pieces of red peppers in it but that was a veggie omelette. When my friend omelette arrived I noticed she had huge pieces of peppers and different things coming out of it and I was like well goodness your omelette looks different than mine and it was a veggie omelette as well. After speaking with the manager, not so helpful however, I didn't particular care whether he gave me a discount or not because that's not the purpose of my visit, I came to patronize a black owned restaurant and get quality service. Have good consistent food and quality of service when we're spending a decent amount of money for a decent meal. But one thing for sure that I can attest to whether he agree or not agree, I will not never return back to that restaurant and spend my money. The young lady the waitress because she didn't she only ask for our order but, s someone else bought our food didn't make sense to me but that's how they work that I guess. The young lady (waitress) was absolutely appalled at her colleague and I'm certain at the way her manager handled...

PART ONE So today came into the establishment today @ 6:00 knowing that happy hour ends @7 it was a party of 3 me and my 2 friends, so I ordered one of every 5$ happy hour appetizer food items and one happy hour lemon drop the items came out came out in random orders, waited about a hour and a half for most of the items to come out so I didn’t receive 2 items I reminded the waiter 2 or 3 times she said it was an influx in orders so the food would be coming so waited like 7-10 more mins no additional food was brought out but she did bring the checks 1st check “7:31pm total $58.20” came out it had 3 items on it that I did not receive 2 orders of wings and corn so I stop her and let her know she “like mhmm so you didn’t get any wings” I said “no my two friends got their wings I did not receive the one order I was supposed to get the food runner person kept give them the wings I know they ordered 2-3 orders of wings also but I’ve never got mine when she brought them out” she said “okay hold on because she’s the owner “ so then she brought back 2nd check “7:38pm total $45.31” the corn and one of the wings were taken off I stop the waiter and let her know so during this the food runner/owner comes over and say something to myself and my friends because they brought in outside alcohol and that “she’s going to make them pay for bring it in” I’m saying okay cool that’s fine that has nothing to do with me it’s separate bills I didn’t have knowledge of them doing so I didn’t participate in drinking it so nothing was supposed to be said to me about it, she says “ no you’re going to pay for the wings in the receipt because they shouldn’t have done that in the first place” and walk off so I’m talking to the waitress at this point and says “I understand they did whatever they did but it was nothing to do with me I’m fine with paying for everything I ate there’s no problem but things I didn’t receive will not be happening” the waiter says something along the lines of “ well she’s mad right now because they brought in the outside alcohol and she going to make them pay for it on the bill if you don’t pay for the wings so can you juts please pay for them and that’s all” I said “ no because I didn’t eat any why am I going to pay for any wings if I never got them” she huffs and puffs and walk off “SECOND HALF IN ANOTHER REVIEW JUSTICE TAY...
