From the moment we stepped into Madre Selva, it was clear that this was more than just a restaurant—it was a sensory experience. The attention to detail was impeccable, beginning with a warm welcome that included a hand-washing ritual followed by a towel infused with essential oils, setting the tone for a refined and immersive dining experience.

Having made a reservation, we were given the option to choose our seating, a thoughtful touch that made us feel instantly valued. The ambiance was nothing short of breathtaking, featuring a desert modernism aesthetic with a captivating cocktail bar and a stunning nature-inspired mural—a glimpse into the jungle that added to the restaurant’s enchanting atmosphere.

Our server, Felipe, played an instrumental role in elevating our experience. From start to finish, he was incredibly attentive, professional, and knowledgeable, guiding us through the menu with expertise and ensuring we felt completely at ease.

Drinks & Starters: For drinks, we enjoyed the Echoes of Chavín and the Forest Infusion, both of which were beautifully crafted and full of layered flavors that set the stage for the meal.

We entrusted Felipe with choosing our dishes, and his selections did not disappoint. We started with the Octopus Anticuchero and the Ceviche Carretillero. The ceviche was undoubtedly the star of the evening—exceptionally fresh, perfectly balanced with citrus and spices, and visually stunning. The octopus, tender and flavorful, served as a great introduction to the meal, preparing the palate for what was to come.

Main Course & Dessert: For our main dish, we had the Cauliflower Porterhouse, an unexpected yet delightful surprise. The chimichurri and roasted tomato sauce added depth and artistry, turning a simple ingredient into a masterpiece.

We couldn't resist ending the evening with Mamá Delia, a dessert that was as beautiful as it was delicious. The delicate florals, creamy gelato, and toasted coconut base created a harmonious blend of textures and flavors, making it the perfect conclusion to our meal.

Final Thoughts: Madre Selva is more than a restaurant; it is a culinary adventure that transports you to the heart of the Peruvian mountains, offering an experience that engages all the senses and connects diners with tradition and heritage. It is truly surprising that this establishment has yet to receive a Michelin star, as every aspect of the experience—from service to presentation to flavors—was flawless.

For those seeking an unforgettable dining experience in Atlanta, Madre Selva is an absolute must. Bravo to the entire team, and much success...

Yep. It’s time to stop dragging your feet when it comes to Latin American food. There’s a new restaurant in town that delivers as Atlanta’s first ceviche bar. My first experience with the dish was on a girls’ trip to Mexico, and Madre Selva elevates those traditional flavors. Don’t force me to pronounce the dishes, but I can definitely pronounce DELICIOUS…and spell it too. First, they washed our hands upon entry, which I’d never experienced before. I started with a signature cocktail, which was an herbal fusion, so it was like sipping my morning tea…but spiked. It had a subtle sweetness and was perfectly balanced, not to mention super cute. We ordered the Octopus Anticuchero to start, and my god! Complex textures and flavors makes this a must try, but my favorite was the char on the octopus, which was packed with flavor and really tender. As far as ceviche, I was only able to try the carretillero…but that was more than enough. Again, the chef has mastered layering flavors and textures for an out-of-this world (or at the very least, out of this country) experience. Please don’t sleep on trying this ceviche. It was enough to share, and I promise you’ll want to lick the bowl. Next up was the Jalea Mochica, and it’s a fried feast of fish, shrimp, and calamari. It was lightly battered and perfectly seasoned. I’m not into fried platters, but I enjoyed it. Last was dessert, and we went with the coconut/pineapple gelato. (Sorry, forgot the name.) I’ll say that this dish was probably the most puzzling one. It was creamy, and really good when you got a hint of pineapple, but there was something about one of the ingredients that was bitter and reminiscent of dandelion. I would definitely try something different when I return as it pertains to dessert, but I’m afraid I’m stuck on the appetizer and ceviche I chose. It’s so delicious, I may never order anything else. (Pray for me, or not.) Service was impeccable, and they were very attentive. The ambiance is beautiful and the venue is quiet with the exception of some Latin house music. Perfect for a date night or an upscale evening with friends. I can’t unsee this place. Ugh! Make a reservation and get in there. Hands down one of my top 10 dining...
