Me and my three other friends went to this establishment yesterday evening as we were walking around little five points, we hadn't done any research prior, we just saw pizza and we went in. The doors were wide open, and it was very hot but it had a nice atmosphere. We were greeted immediately and some of the workers seemed friendly. We were the only customers in there. We were trying to figure out if we wanted to eat there or somewhere else, and it seemed like the man at the counter (Receipt says his name was David) was rushing us, even though they had no customers in there. Finally me and my one friend decided to get a Margherita Pizza, I asked the man at the counter if I could do invidual slices and he said no, that I could only get the small 12 inch, which was 18 dollars. (This turned out to be a lie because my other friend who was with me, got two slices of pizza, for 13 dollars though. It was all very overpriced) I thought it was a lot of money but honestly I was hungry and didn't care at the time. I paid on the screen, the payment went through, I got my receipt. Note that while I was paying and ordering, the guy was training one of his employees how to use the register tablet. (I understood though because it was a new place). After I PAID and ordered my food, my friend and I wanted to get something to drink, but all they had to drink was sparkling water (at a pizza place...) There was a gas station across the street, so me and my one friend went across the street to get something to drink, leaving my other two friends at the pizza place to wait for my order (They said it was a 15 minute wait). While I'm at the gas station, my friend texts me saying that she had to pay for my pizza because my card didn't go through, now I knew that was a lie because the payment was pending on my account and I got a receipt. If the payment didn't go through, they would have known as I was paying at the counter. So I go back down to the pizza place and show them it went through, and demanded they give my friend a refund. Nobody at the counter seemed to know what was going on, or what they were doing, they claimed that my order was "canceled" even though I literally paid for it. I feel like he was so distracted training his employee that he messed up and canceled my order but that's just speculation. So then they told me that the machine was issuing ME a refund, not my friend. Which made no sense to me either, because she shouldn't have had to pay in the first place. They didn't seem all to apologetic about it, if anything I felt like my order was an inconvenience.
Now on to the actual food review, the pizza was alright. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great, I've been vegan for 20 years so I've had better vegan pizza. It was not worth 18 dollars and the hassle it took to get it, that's for sure. One thing I will say is, the other employees seemed very nice and they checked and asked how we were multiple times, and the general theme of the place was also very nice.
All in all, I understand that they just opened and they are probably working through the kinks of their system. However, I felt that they should have be more organized and it didn't seem like they were ready to be open.
UPDATE: I updated my review to three stars because I've talked with the owners and staff more and they have been very nice and helpful, I just happen to go to their restaurant as they were just opening 😆 but I would love to come back in a couple months to see how they've grown. Special thanks to David for being so...
Read moreI’ve been wanting to try this place for a while, finally decided to put an order in. I ordered online via their webpage, the tracker told me when it was ready, and I headed in. The front of house told me that it wasn’t ready yet, and when I said oh sorry, the tracker said it was, they then told me that it HAD been ready but there ended up being a hole in the dough/pizza so they had to remake it, and asked me to come back in twenty minutes. No big, I wandered around Little 5 for a bit, came back in twenty minutes. They told me it would be another ten minutes. At this point it was almost an hour since I had ordered, so I said I wanted a refund if they hadn’t already put it in the oven. The said they hadn’t. When I asked why, they said there were orders ahead of mine. This confuses me… my pizza was done! Made! I was previously in the queue and the pizza got a hole in it! One would think that they would re-make my pizza right away… I guess not. Turns out that their online webpage ordering uses door dash, getting a refund became too much of an exercise (for me at least), so I asked if I could then just wait for my pizza instead. They said yes, they’d make it right away, it would take seven minutes. As I was sitting there waiting, multiple people came in, found out that their wait time was over an hour for food (it seemed like some had already ordered and their food was supposed to be ready), and they canceled/left on the spot.
Anyways, they ended up giving me a pizza that was made for someone else... I think maybe someone that had canceled or was a no show? I know it was meant for someone else because the front of house said as such, and the box was taped up. It was a strange interaction. I opened it to check it before I left. It was hot and looked fine so no big deal. The guy next to me at the bar area had also been waiting a long time. I still just don’t understand why they didn’t just remake my pizza on the spot after my original pizza didn’t come out right.
Got home, realized they hadn’t cut it. The pizza itself was… fine. Really not worth the price and the hassle. Very floppy. I understand boxed pizza may do that but we're talking about six minutes from it being handed to me. This makes me think it had been sitting for a bit before it ended up in my hands, since it was intended for someone else. I don't know.
The front of house was really nice about everything, very apologetic, even gave me a little coupon thing for a free pizza next time I stop in for the troubles. They seemed really busy, a bit overwhelmed. I’m sure I just caught them on an off night, but I don’t know if I’ll be stopping back in after all that, when there are other vegan pizza places...
Read moreUnfortunately, I am unable to leave a positive review. I visited with my daughter and my husband. It was our first experience. I shared this with the cashier who took our order. We trusted the many positive reviews. We entered the restaurant at 7:50 on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was busy with a steady ebb of carry out orders, abgood sign. There were a few customers dining in, a family of five, and two young men.
I placed our order, we hoped to experience the Giardino and the Come la Carne. We purchased bottled water and a blood orange sparkling beverage. I was prepared wait, extending full grace to the cashiers, chefs, and kitchen staff. My daughter, our growing baby, my husband, and I sat eagerly, previewing what was to come through steady aromas, and glimpses of other patron’s pies.
We waited for about twenty minutes when a group of four young women entered after us. They placed their order and sat to dine in. Someone from the kitchen, a gentleman, entertained them with steady conversation, a consistent sampling of wine, and lively conversation. My family and I had been waiting for 45 minutes at this point.
I went to the counter and politely spoke with the cashier. I shared our wait time, and asked how much longer we could anticipate. She told me we would be up next, “5 minutes.” My husband and I did not expect what happened next. After a 58 minute wait, the table of patrons who entered the establishment after us received their dine in order. The gentleman bringing it to them apologized for the long wait as he was met with cheers and lively laughter.
This was the gentleman from the back, the same gentleman who entertained the table next to us. He wore an apron peppered with flour, and asked my husband, “How are you all?” My husband began to reply, and the gentleman did not stay to hear his full response. He simply shrugged, as he headed back into the kitchen and stated, “We are busy, busy.” My family was not engaged with conversation, acknowledged, and we sat with a hungry child.
After an hour wait, my husband approached the counter and politely requested a refund. We did not feel like our dollar was valued. He received a lackluster, “Sorry for the inconvenience.” We are willing to pay for a fine dining experience, tip generously, and seek opportunities to support local businesses throughout Atlanta and the surrounding communities.
This visit was a miss. We left hungry and had to find...
