First, let me say that it hurts my soul to write this review because I've LOVED Tassili's wraps for years. They are absolutely delicious for the most part. The spice level is VERY inconsistent though. I always get mixed and sometimes it's so hot I can't eat it. The food isn't the issue. The extremely LONG wait time - beyond what is communicated and the lack of service is a huge problem. For a while now, we've ordered online, then drove 45 mins to get our wraps and ALWAYS had to wait. There's never anyone up front, so we have to wait 15-20 mins for anyone to acknowledge us, then wait more for the food. We've been patient but just can't deal with the inconsistency anymore. This last time, we ordered at 1:30, pick-up time was at 2:08, and having to get the baby from daycare, we had a hard stop at 2:50. It was finally done at exactly 2:50 as we were leaving and wondering how we would get a refund. There was no staff up front to ask status or advise we needed to leave. It's just not possible for people to do this when they are trying to grab lunch from work or have anything else to do for the rest of the day. Even if the website would give an accurate time, it would be helpful so we know if we can do it or not. I really hope things improve but it's been this way for a while and as much as I hate it, we just can't deal with the unpredictable wait times anymore, especially when we are already driving 45 mins to get it. Side note: ordering from the website is very strange. I can order the exact same wrap from 3 different buttons and it will be 3 different prices.
Edit to add: Got home with the wraps and they are super light and dry (not heavy and moist like normally - seems like the kale wasn't massaged with the dressing?), no mayo, and no BBQ sauce.
*Update: I emailed after getting a reply to the review but no response a week later. Customer service is just non-existent at this point. 😔🤷♀️
**2nd update: After my last update, they responded to my email asking me to explain the problem (again). So I did and no response. Fast forward to today, 2 months later. We had time and we're really craving wraps and decided to try again. Ordered online at 12:37pm, text said it was due at 1:12pm (I know better). We ran errands and got there for pick up at 2:50pm and still had to wait 30 mins because no one was up front. We got home (45 mins away) to find out we had the wrong wraps. Both were chili so they looked right on the outside but there's no way to check them without unwrapping and making a mess. They really need stickers or something. This whole situation is so frustrating and disheartening because the food is delicious if you can manage to get it and get the right thing. But accuracy is terrible and service is even worse both in the store and...
Read moreI have been coming to Tassili's for over 5yrs now and it saddens me to write this but the food, service and energy of the place has severely gone down. Orders are always wrong or incomplete. The quantity of the food is less yet they are charging WAY more and the food isn't that good anymore. The kale is always hard like they no longer massage it or maybe they are no longer getting organic kale and they're using regular kale. They nickel and dime you for every single thing...like really 75 cents to add a sprinkle of sea salt on your salad or wrap? And if you want the rawbbq (amongst other add ons) it's now $2.50 as opposed to $1.
I just don't understand...it's one thing for prices to increase DRAMATICALLY but at least make sure the food and service are up to par and it's definitely not. Very disappointed but hoping things will change and get better.
Update: Tassili's has officially lost a customer. I've been going there for 6+yrs now. This past weekend I ordered a full size wrap and was given a half size wrap (not the first time it has happened, as of late.) When I complained, I was told that previous management was giving away the wrong portion sizes. Ummm okay so I've been getting the wrong sized wrap for 6yrs??? Their full sized wraps are now the same size as a Big Yoshi wrap but weigh way less. Make it make sense.
The Mandingo, (which is now basically $40) I can pretty much finish a whole half in one sitting which used to be impossible. They are downgrading the sizes and then trying to gaslight their customers into believing that this is how it always should have been...ummm NO! I've been also getting the punany salad for YEARS then all of a sudden I get it and it has no mayo in it and again...they tried to gaslight me into believing that this is the way it's always been and you have to add it on the salad but it comes on the wrap. At this point I'm over it and beyond annoyed. I've literally spent hundreds of dollars at this establishment in one order and THOUSANDS over the years. They will no longer see a penny...
Read moreUpdate: recently visited, got my usual and whoever is adding salt to the spicy kale needs to stop. If this is your solution to addressing reviews that claim it's bland, salt isn't the answer. Please go back to original recipe without all the sodium. Can hardly enjoy the natural flavors of all the ingredients because of the salt. Thanks!
This used to be my favorite restaurant. I've had issues with my orders in the past and they were quick to resolve it, however, it seems to have worsened since the ongoing renovations. Since we can't see them make our wrap, we have no idea if it's right until we get home. I did an uber eats delivery last night. By the time I paid the extra fee plus tip it was $40 for the full size punany and guess what? No sauce on the side after I paid addl $2. Why charge us if it's only in the bag 50% of the time? They screwed up my order a month or so ago and I still ate it because I'd already reached home. My uber eats order didn't include my raw bbq sauce that I paid for so i didn't really get to fully enjoy it. Then to top it all off, they got the nerve to not answer the phone yesterday and as recently as today. SMH! Get it together guys. Your food is great but you need to tighten up on the little things. UPDATE: thank you Tassili for your response. Sometimes it's not about the $2 sauce, but more about the fact that you already spent $40 and didn't really fully enjoy it because they mistakenly omitted it from the bag. It happens all the time. While I appreciate the $2 refund, that won't fix the problem unless they learn to simply cross reference the receipt with the contents of the to go bag. All they have to do is read the receipt and make sure everything is in the bag. If you're short staffed and we're not getting adequate service then perhaps that should be reflected in the prices. The prices are going up and the customer service is going down. My $40 was not well spent at all. Sincerely, longtime customer who still has hope....
