Doughnut review. Visited on a cold Tuesday morning, late-October and off-season. First, this is in a semi-residential area of AC, on the corner. It is a small, old bakery with no-frills. It was not crowded and had one cashier/server. The server was slightly hostile (which is usually what you'd expect in S. Jersey, however the hostility lacked any 'jersey-style charm'). Responding to "what do you want?" I said I was going to get a small box of pastries, maybe 4. She retorted: I don't have a box for 4 only 6. Whatever! I agreed to 6 pastries and a box. She also cautioned me that they were all different prices. Again - whatever! I chose: chocolate frosted ring, coffee roll, sugared-jelly, sugared ring, cheese danish, and apple fritter. Cost was $12 and change. I had almost no hope of these being good but I was still ready to try them all. First impression on the chocolate ring was poor because the frosting cracked and crumbled off when I cut it in half. However, the fluffy interior of the doughnut was perfect. The chocolate, while slightly dry and prone to break off, had a perfect flavor to complement a well cooked doughnut. Moving to the coffee roll - it was nice and soft to cut into and the center pieces were fresh and spongy. The most outer ring was just slightly hard, but still perfect in taste. The sugared-jelly was quite fat, but had a great ratio of doughnut to jelly. Very tasty and the jelly was the perfect consistency and taste. The sugared ring was my least favorite. It tasted slighly oily/possibly over cooked, but still had a great rise and fluffy interior. The cheese danish was exceptional. Many times the cheese is too sweet, over-whipped, or under-baked. This cheese was honestly just right: not too sweet and baked all the way through, without drying out the danish. The apple fritter was good not great. The dough was very nice and it was cooked well, but lacked apples - only two small pieces by my judgement. It still tasted very good, but may disappoint an apple fritter connoisseur. I would recommend Minos bakery - especially for off-season doughnuts in the area. The options are quite limited once the summer shops close down. If you like Chester's in Somers Point, you'd also like Minos and you may even prefer Minos doughnuts to Chester's. They are both great.

I only gave 2 bc they have great baked goods... However, the female working today July 11th 2020 at apprx 12pm in the ventnor ave location was very rude and disrespectful she was super short with me never greeted me but greeted the white guy who walked in right after me the only thing she said the entire time i was there was do you want anything else no hey how u doing can i help u w anything just glared at me until i told her my order. Very rude and most likely no home training she was letting flies in the area where the donuts were instead of trying to shoe them away... My order was already packed when I saw this. I really do love that bakery but the ppl u have wrking is why u guys didn't get a four...

I’ve been here on multiple occasions and the girl behind the counter doesn’t have ANY personality at all. she makes it very uncomfortable even when trying to be cordial and nice to her.

i accidentally spilled my coffee all over myself and the counter after she didn’t put the lid on correctly. and all she worried about was the spill and not if i burned myself and didn’t even offer paper towels to wipe the coffee off myself or to top off the cup.

My brother and his wife live a couple blocks away and i asked them about this place and they said the same thing, NOT CUSTOMER friendly at ALL!

I suggest going elsewhere for your bakery goods...
