This was our first time staying in Atlantic City for over 10 years. After reading some reviews of this hotel after booking I was afraid that we would have a bad experience. It was the opposite. Now don't get me wrong, I am not saying that this hotel is a home run, but it wasn't bad for the few nights we were there. We had probably half a dozen encounters with the front desk staff who answered all questions without issue. 5 / 5 Everything from recommending a place for pizza on the first night to local attractions and other things such as the best local laundry mat. The hotel was average, couch, TV, bed, bathroom, desk, fridge which was nice. It didn't really seem out dated but wasn't anything to write home about. It would have been nice to have a smidge more room, and a microwave. But all in all 3.5/5. The room was clean when we got there, with no signs of mold, or bad smell. The housekeeping staff were at our room everyday as well. Although they did not enter our room while we were there, they provided trash bags and fresh towels as we requested them (they are not maids, I don't expect them to clean up after me while I am staying there for an extended period of time like that anyways). The one day we were gone they did come in and make our bed, vacuum and changed out our towels which was nice to see when we returned. The breakfast was okay at best. It was nice to have it included but the space provided to eat was perhaps a dozen tables if that. If you weren't early you were either standing or taking food back to your room (despite other reviews, noone said anything to us about removing food from the breakfast area, back to our room). The breakfast itself was meh. The usuals cereal, toast, juice, coffee, yogurt, and a waffle iron. We did find a first for any choice hotel we have been at which was still not anything special which was a pancake iron (same concept as the waffle iron). The sausage and round probably pre frozen scrambled egg patties were the only other two hot items on the breakfast buffet. Overall 2 / 5 . Parking was pay per day which seemed the norm for most of the other hotels we saw in the area and was 10 bucks per night every night we stayed. As far as the extras, the hotel did have a vending and ice machine outside, as well as a workout room. Would have loved to see a laundry room even if it was at a charge as well as some type of pool, even if they shared with one of the other choice hotels in the area (econo lodge 2...
Read morewhere to begin? first off, i would never stay in this hotel for the fact that we were treated like scum over the phone and didn't even have the chance to check into the hotel and if i could give zero stars, i would.
i reserved a room for july back in january through hotels.com for an event nearby. my friend's and i decided to book with this quality inn flamingo and everything was fine.
due to corona, our event was postponed until next year and we asked the hotel to move our reservation, if possible. the front desk rep "raza" had me call back three days in a row to check on cancelling this reservation, as we did not want to be charged more next year. finally this person told us we could receive a full refund by calling hotels.com and everything would be fine.
upon calling hotels.com, this front desk person told the phone rep that they were keeping 5% of my booking charges because i paid in advance and that they had already told me this, which he had not.
when i advised them that this was untrue and that i would be calling back to figure things out, i was told my room was already cancelled and there was nothing more i could do.
since i had not authorized my hotel reservation to be canceled, the hotel processed a refund to a deactivated credit card and later told me that there was nothing they could do because the owner of the hotel changed and they had no money to give out to people who were effected by this event.
i was then told to go to my back and file a dispute to get the refund i was never given from the hotel and in doing so, was told i was still being charged the 5% from the hotel. again, i advised that i would like to speak with someone regarding the fees and was told "no, the dispute is already being worked and refunded."
terrible business and it clearly doesn't matter who owns it because they take it upon themselves to do whatever they like and keep whatever portion of your money they feel that they are owed. scammers to the fullest and the only reason we did not come to stay is because we have zero interest in meeting these unprofessional jerks, for lack of...
Read moreWhat was supposed to be a lovely weekend overall with my girlfriend ended up at a horrendous stay at this hotel. It went downhill from the moment at check-in:
When our room ended up on the 3rd floor, with no elevators. Mind you there were available rooms on lower floors.
We also have the cold nature of the staff which goes hand & hand with the room selection for us. I even mentioned my girlfriend's asthma in doing those steps which fell on deaf ears.
Upon entering our room the card key didn't work. When I had to go all the way down to the front desk to report it, the attendant seemed not to believe me.
The piece that flushed the toilet became dislodged from its chain several times during our stay. One of the front desk staff & the "maintenance guy" came several times to the room to fix it. Upon the 4th time we just gave up & did it the old fashioned way by lifting the back cover & manually flushing our toilet ourselves.
Our room location in terms of the windy weekend made sleeping problematic. Our room faced out to an empty parking lot which was a haven for the very loud wind sounds. That kept my girlfriend awake & myself which is unimaginable since I'm a very hard sleeper but yet it awoke me in the middle of the nigh.
The fact that the icemaker which was all the way down on the 1st floor was out of service so I had to get ice from the fitness room. The problem was my card key didn't allow me access to the room. Thanks to a kindly cleaning lady I was able to retrieve some ice.
The only saving grace was the comfortable bed & the spacious shower, although the water started running cold upon our departure.
As far as improvements go, everything I mentioned about my experience needs improving but most importantly better staff of people who are actually happy about the employment & are well training in efficient customer service. It's an area I'm well aware of in my...
