Located on 3901 Ventnor Ave in Atlantic City is Sabor Latino AC. Parking, well, find the best spot available and you may have to walk. First look, a lot of people picking up their food, sitting and eat, music playing, atmosphere was great. If you’re looking for a restaurant with air conditioning, this ain’t the place. The menu is full of great choices! If you speak Spanish or have google translate out to help with your ordering that will help! We did order empanadas, but the waitress missed it. Food time! I got the birria tacos (I swear I should name this page, looking for best birria around) and they were great. They had their own flare of spices to it, some sweetness of cinnamon and all spice. It was crispy on the outside, cheese was perfectly melted, meat was super moist and tasty. The verde sauce was amazing. All around a great meal. My wife got the chicharon mofongo, and it was also good. Smashed plantains in a cup seasoned, and super crispy chicharon. The chicharon could’ve been cooked a little less but it was still good. There was this white gravy sauce with the chicharon, I don’t know what it was but it was great dipping the meat and mofongo in it! This place a great hidden gem if you’re in the area for something different. My wife and I both agreed, we didn’t hate it, but didn’t leave with the craving of I wanna come back and try it again.

Ordered the mofongo with pollo guisado. I thought it would mixed in but it wasn't it was served separately. The presentation was nice. The chicken was undercooked though had to send it back and replaced it with carne guisado which was a lot better. The garlic sauce mixed with the mofongo was great. My family ordered Chivo which was good, the pork chops and moro rice was great she loved the rice. The chicken chunks was not that great. The homande lemonade was good as well as chinola drink. The arroz con dulce dessert rice needed to be more cooked. I did ordered empanadas as a appetizer but it was forgotten, the waitress realized after we ate and apologized. Overall of your in the mood for food near Atlantic city casinos this is the the best one. It's not perfect but the food is still good. A-

It was a great food took a bit longer because they prepare on the spot and get lots of orders from grub hub etc. When the food is good you know it be like this. Great portions too. My husband ordered yellow rice , ribs so juicy (fall off the bone) and a side of extra beans,I ordered white rice, pink beans, breaded chicken and a side of plantains. We returned the next day for 2 cuban sandwiches delishes food, a lemon aid and a tamarind smoothie. Awesome service from Samil and Jomar too! Can not forget the excellent cooks ! I highly recommend it!

A lot of the food here is very salty. Any beef/bistec dish you order is made with cheap, tough, flavorless, and grainy chuck roast. I would NEVER recommend ANY beef/res dish from here. Who makes steak from chuck roast???? 🧐

The macaroni salad is ok.

The empanadas are the best thing this place has. The shrimp empanadas when cooked fresh are out of this world good! It's the only thing I like from here.

The pollo guisado is salty. Like I said, they need to stop using so much salt and learn how to season their food better. Salt, adobo, and Sazon Completa shouldn't be the only thing you use to season your food.

The service and atmosphere are both excellent. The prices are wayyyy too high for the quality of food you get.

Also folks, watch your receipt!!! They don't put items on the receipt, they only put a final price. BY PRACTICE THEY OVERCHARGE YOU! Everytime I have been there I've had to correct them on the taxes they try to charge. They always have tried to charge me anywhere from 50 cents to one dollar or more for the taxes. The tax rate at their location (08401) is 6.625% so don't let them try to tell you it's higher. Also, they charge $1 more for using your card. I will NEVER ever tip them again. I always tip because I worked a tipping job for 15 years! The owner of this place is a crook.

Edit:

To those reading this review. Do you see the snide response from what I guess, is the owner? Sir or ma'am, don't assume I cannot afford the food from your restaurant simply because I said the prices are wayyyy too high for the quality of food you get. Instead, how about address my points? I'd much rather pay an appropriate price for good quality food. And you tell me to go home and cook myself 😂😂😂 I'm sure I'm not the only customer of yours who thinks the same about your food.

The fact remains is that your food could...

Called in to place a order for the food, the lady who picked up the phone didn’t speak english and said to wait. I waited for 7 mins and then she just hung up the phone without even taking my order. Called them back and the lady who picked up was very rude so I ended up not placing the order thru the phone. Later I just went into the establishment to place the order, there was a lady who took a simple order of rice, chicken and beans from me, and she took her sweet time preparing everything. It’s not like the food was not ready or that they were super busy, which in that case I would understand, she was talking walking around and preparing the order super late. I didn’t say anything and then came the time for her to pack the food and let me tell y’all for her to simply place the order in the bag and staple it shut she took a good 5 mins because she kept on talking and getting distracted. The service needs to be better and i’m writing the review on the correct establishment SABOR LATINO 2. The food is good and I would recommend to others but the service is not so i’m not really sure about it, I suggest for you guys to really improve on the service...
