Tonight (11/27/15), we decided to visit this Friendly’s location. We shouldn’t have.
I wanted a drink and a side of onion rings. My wife–a drink, some chicken strips, and a side of fries. The drinks came; they were fine. The onion rings came; they were fine as well. And then my wife’s chicken strips and uncooked fries arrived.
The fries were half-thawed at best. We caught out waitress’ attention and she attentively addressed the issue and returned with a replacement batch. I’m not sure if they were cooked or still cooking, as they sat there simmering in a thick layer of oil. I ventured to test one, causing an unhealthy and unnecessary amount of grease to spirt from its sides. My wife, my more cautious counterpart, dabbed them with some napkins to absorb the grease, hoping they’d be fine after the fact. Still, they were just uneatable. Less messy, but still uneatable.
Again, I motioned to our server and she said she would speak to her manager and see what she could do. She returned with his solution–if we wanted ice cream, it would be on the house.
We didn’t go there for ice cream. We went there to eat decent food in a decent environment and to experience decent customer service. We walked away doing neither. I refused to pay for the fries, as we left them untouched and our server agreed to “honor” a 15% off coupon to offset their cost.
My wife and I dine out frequently and we never have issues. We don’t go looking for free meals and that’s not what we were after tonight.
I’m not writing this review because Friendly’s fries weren’t up to par tonight. I’m writing it because I’m greatly disappointed with the closing manager on duty (a heavyset, balding quadragenarian) and his lack of professionalism and care for his guests. He failed to make time to check in with us after our first or second complaint because apparently, sharing whatever was on his phone with his cooks in the kitchen trumped our patronage. He failed to deliver the one element his industry depends on–hospitality.
His apathetic attitude toward his customers is reason enough for us not to return. We’ll gladly spend our hard-earned dollars elsewhere, and on less greasy, better...

My friend and I requested beforehand right as we were getting ready to be seated if it was okay if we sat in the corner since it wasnt as close to anyone else and readily available. My friend and I sat down after getting the thumbs up, and this rude linebacker comes from the back and she instantly started berating the waitress who sat us down very loudly, asking her why she sat us down right away. And then came to our table to tell us personally in a rude demeaning tone, to let us know that “that they’re busy and we can’t get upset if we had to wait”. At that point my friend and I were questioning the waitresses if it was a problem to request to sit somewhere beforehand and she instantly reassured us and said she has no idea what that woman’s problem was. And it felt targeted because everyone else who came in after (who were not of our race) never got the same treatment we did by that woman. Then we get serviced by the sweetest waitress, if only I had caught her name (she had short hair though). She kept checking on us and apologizing about it. Then while we were eating, the crazy eyeliner lady came back tryna justify and explain what she did sounding all types of crazy and sounding dumb probably because she felt guilty idk I was just tryna eat and she was in my face spewing nonsense. Even her coworkers laughed uncomfortably. Long story short, I hope everyone who works there, except for Ms.Gorlock, pillows are cold...
Read moreThey could not accommodate to our party's needs. Our waitress was so rude and smelled like she came from the nursing home, like urine. We ordered an unsweet tea that was clearly fermented, when we told her that we wanted to switch it out for a water; she came back with "we make it fresh daily" i had to reassure her it was fermented.. She got our burger wrong and had to take it back. When it came time for some of our family to order ice cream we polotely asked for extra menu's and she said she would be right back with them. She didn't come back with them, and when she did come back to take our order without the menu's, she said "well they're closing the ice cream bar, so you need to put your order in" so she had to wait while they figured it out without knowing what you had. Ironically, the cherry on top, if you will is that one of our family members had to step out to the car to get cash for her tip which she clearly didn't deserve, she asked ig she was coming back in and we told her yes she was in a minute. She then told us that they were LOCKING THE DOORS WITH OR WOTHOUT HER COMING BACK IN. YOU DO NOT LOCK YOUR PATRONS OUT OF YOUR RESTAURANT, CASE CLOSED. We had the delight of them talking about us negatively in the back and that they couldn't do anything about it. NEVER have we had such a horrible experience with ANY restaurant. We will never be coming back to this restaurant. Word of advice, retrain, or rehire new staff that actually has at least SOME...
