Tex Barry's Coney Island Diner, Inc. — Restaurant in Attleboro

Been coming here for quite a bit now. Someone in my office went out to get hot dogs and brought some extras back for lunch. After one bite it was history. I found out where the place actually was and started going here regularly, sometimes more than once a week.

Can't say enough good things about this place. In a world where life can get complicated and throw you a million different options, it's nice to just sit back and get served by some kind folk in a cozy nostalgic environment, only having a few things on the menu

Burgers, dogs, french fries, soft drinks and chips. Like, what more could you want? Is it the best gourmet meal I've ever had? No But man doesn't hit the spot on a nice summer day or when you need some comfort food to lift your spirits.

All for a fair and reasonable price, two dogs and a drink ran me a little over $5? With lots of chili, onions and cheese it is a very generous portion for the price.

If you're in the area, or heck even if you're not around the area, it's worth the drive. Lots of other things to check out downtown as well. Attleboro is slowly starting to become my home, this is the one of many gems that I hope will always be here.

Place is great. They have RI style weiners/hot dogs. Ask for them all the way to get the mustard, raw onion, meat sauce. Everything is super cheap. Even with the price hikes from $1.60 to $2/dog, it's still cheap as hell. 2 dogs with fries and a coke is less than $6. Can't beat it.

Want to try their cheeseburgers, the meat doesn't seem frozen. Fries are OK, but I'm not a big fry guy anyway.

Owners can seem cranky but it's fine. Food is great, ridiculously cheap, and open when I want to go. Can't ask for more really. Maybe start a runner service to the brewery around the corner!

Updated Dec 7, 2021: I can't tell you who did, but someone recommended their burgers again very recently. Today, Dec 7,2021, I did it. I got 2 hot dogs all the way, 1 order of fries, and 1 cheeseburger with onions. I pretended to be less than sober (just kidding - I was. I had just gotten off a virtual happy hour). The whole thing came to like $9. This place tastes great, the prices are cheap, and it's an institution for a reason.

To the owners: make cheesesteaks, I beg you. Overprice them. You can freeze the ribeye. Make them with cheez whiz or...

Super fast burgers and dogs .. Super simple ..In .. Out .. Gone Nothing gourmet about it .. Zero ambience .. Small and crowded .. Seems to have something of a local cult following .. No muss .. No fuss .. Just decent quality meat and dogs. Tex Barry's is simply an old-school grill and a flat top and nearly 40 yrs experience .. that's all you need to crank out really great sleazeburgers .. Busy little joint .. Attracts all demographics .. You rub elbows with all sorts of people - which i like. Humans are social animals that, sadly, are prone to pretention and self-aggrandizement ....
