I feel compelled to share the details of my experience due to the severity of the situation that occurred after we left this restaurant. My family and I decided to try this establishment, which had a decent rating, while we were waiting nearby. We ordered butter chicken, samosa chaat, garlic naan, and a separate purchase of Thums Up. The lady who took our order, though her English wasn’t very strong, was kind and recommended the samosa chaat, which I ordered.
Unfortunately, when we began eating, we encountered several serious issues. The butter chicken was the first red flag. Upon my first bite, I immediately noticed something was wrong—the chicken tasted raw and unappetizing. I didn’t mention it to my wife at first, but she confirmed the same issue after her first bite. Upon further inspection, we discovered that every piece of chicken was undercooked, and shockingly, there was something black inside one of the pieces. To make matters worse, we also found a black curly hair in the dish. Although I didn’t take a photo of the hair, I now regret not doing so.
The garlic naan was soggy, and the samosa chaat was the worst I’ve ever had, with an incredibly bland flavor and soggy texture. My greatest concern was ensuring that my children, who had taken a bite of the chicken, wouldn’t get sick.
I immediately called the restaurant to report the issue. The lady who answered seemed unsure how to handle the situation and had to consult with her manager. After several back-and-forth conversations, she apologized and offered a refund, which I appreciated. However, the refund was only for $19, despite my total being close to $47 (including a 20% tip for a takeout order). This felt inadequate, given the serious nature of the food safety issues we encountered, and the fact that I tipped 20% for take out, we didn't dine in. I mean really ?
While I appreciate that we didn’t get sick from the little we ate, I’m extremely disappointed with the quality of the food and the handling of the situation. Serving undercooked chicken with questionable contents and hair is a serious health concern. I sincerely hope the restaurant addresses these issues, and I caution others to reconsider dining here. By far one of the worst Indian food experiences. I've been eating Indian half my life literally, this is absolutely garbage. Forgot to add that the rice was sooooo dry. I make way better rice at home. I have no idea how these people are in business, let alone these ratings....
Read moreI have ate here several times via takeout and always found the food to be delicious and so easy to eat. Even with the 10 minute drive home. Yesterday my family and I were in the area and decided to give it a try dining inside the restaurant and we were so glad we did.
We were immediately sat at our table and our water was brought simultaneously, which I found very nice. Being this wasn't our first go-round with their menu we decided what we wanted rather quickly and as soon as our menus were closed, our kind server was there to take our order.
We waited maybe 10 minutes for our appetizer (veggie pakora, give it a try!) and maybe another 5 for our entrees. We thought the take out food was delicious, our minds were blown at how amazing Haveli Grills food was fresh! I recommend everyone to give it a try because our naan was so soft and warm. Our masala had so much depth of flavor and the basmati rice was perfection.
I can say with certainty that Haveli Grill is a hidden gem in the South Sound. Luckily we're a 10 minute drive but for excellent Indian cuisine, we would gladly drive 30 minutes! If you are in or near the South Sound and want truly excellent Indian food, give Haveli Grill a try, you won't be...
Read moreThis place as the kids say or use to say, SLAPS. I will be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect when I went in, but everything smelled right when we had a moment to sit down and take everything in. Ordered the butter chicken, palak paneer, tandoori chicken, and garlic naan. We had plans to make some Indian pizza tonight and we needed our toppings. Well, we had to restrain ourselves from eating all of it, we had plans and we had to keep them! Also, we're trying to get healthy by not over eating. Palak paneer was so deliciously creamy and flavorful, what creamed spinach wish it could be. Tandoori chicken was cooked perfectly with amazing seasoning and amplified with the chutney. Butter chicken was honestly the star of lunch today and I would have ordered more naan if we didn't have plans. BF and I agreed we need to make this part of our regular rotation for takeout or dine in. We...
