My husband and I have been to this restaurant a few times and every visit has been exceptional. Today we went in and everything was fine until we received our food. We were asked by the lady that dropped off our food if we needed anything else and we just asked for bbq sauce. We started to eat when he discovered his sandwich was cold to the touch. The meat and bun both felt like they hadn’t even been heated up at all. We waited about five minutes until our server walked by and we asked for his sandwich to be heated back up and the for the bbq sauce we still hadn’t received. She took his sandwich to the back and brought the sauce to us while the sandwich was “heated up”. After she dropped his sandwich off the second time it was still cold and the bottom part of the bun was so soggy he wouldn’t of been able to pick it up to eat it. We are very disappointed in this visit to Jim N’ Nicks. We traveled four hours from home to go to a game and had high hopes of eating here before returning home. We aren’t sure if we will be returning to this restaurant if we find ourselves back in the area.

Firstly, the restaurant looks(and smells) great. Good first impression was followed up by an excellent male server who catered to our needs. Regretfully, the round of beers we ordered took quite a long time. As for the food, we enjoyed the complimentary bread very much...that stuff has a lovely texture and taste (we asked for some more). As for the smoked meats, the brisket was a little bit on the dry side, and the pulled pork(we got two types) seemed very similar to each other(besides the sauce that was smothered on top). I wish the baked potato came with some sour cream (and some more cheese/bacon bits)...it was a large one and after eating the top layer of the potato, we ended up with bland baked potato for the remaining. We came as a large group(after work coworkers) at around 7pm on a weeknight. I can only imagine the horrors of what type of chaos mighr ensue in that restaurant on a game day(Sat). Overall, a good experience. Recommended to visit, if you are in town.

I was traveling through the area and decided to stop because I have tried a Jim and Nicks before. We came in had to wait awhile to be seated due to the staff looking busy. There were not a lot of people there and it was after lunch so not sure what might have been going on. No biggie! Our server was very nice and checked on us often. We were brought a basket of cheese biscuits. They were so warm and soft. Those biscuit muffins are really good. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich with fries. The sandwich was lightly sauced which was fine. The sandwich was ok but the pork didn't seem to have a smokey flavor or a real taste at all. I love pulled pork and it is rare for the meat to not have smoked flavor. It was not bad but not memorable either. The fries were great due to there crispy texture. I will give Jim and Nicks another chance someday.

Restaurant Review: Jim ‘N Nick’s BBQ – Auburn, AL Order: Online Pickup Before the Final Four Game

I’ve been a loyal Jim ‘N Nick’s customer for 30 years, but after two straight disappointing visits to the Auburn location, I’m officially taking a sabbatical.

I placed an online order for pickup before the game—easy enough process, with a link and estimated time. Ordered 12 wings ($23) and large onion rings ($8.95). At checkout, they recommend a 25% tip for pickup. Against my better judgment, I went ahead and tipped $5, thinking it was for the staff assembling the order.

Big mistake.

When I arrived 40 minutes later, the takeout coordinator handed me my bag and casually said, “We’re out of onion rings,” then stared at me like I was supposed to just say, “Cool,” and walk out. No call. No text. No email. They had all my info—but nothing. Just “Here’s your wings. No onion rings.”

Clearly frustrated, I asked what the options were. She offered a refund or another side. I said, “I guess fries,” and a minute later, she handed me what looked like a kid’s-size portion—after I paid for a large onion rings.

I was in a rush to make tip-off, so I didn’t have time to argue. But it stings to pay $44 for 18 wings, six cheese biscuits, and what might as well have been toddler fries. The wings were delicious, as always—but not worth the hassle, the lack of communication, or the subpar service.

It feels like South College Street is cursed when it comes to restaurant consistency. I’ve been willing to pay a little more for Jim ‘N Nick’s because the quality used to justify it. Not anymore. This experience (and the one before it) was all disappointment and no hospitality.

Here’s hoping an Auburn win can make up for the loss—because it won’t be Jim ‘N Nick’s getting another shot...

We had a very negative experience with Jim N’ Nicks.

I placed an online order for pork, brisket, ribs and chicken tenders with 5 sides for a family reunion tailgate before a Saturday game, last weekend. I placed the order on Monday (paid) and was asked to pick up at 11am on Saturday. I show up at 11am with two people in front of me and an empty restaurant. The staff and cooks acted very disorganized. They took our names at 11:15. They filled their delivery truck from 11-11:15 while we were waiting. From 11:15 til noon, the restaurant was getting packed and people in booths were getting their food. By 11:30, only one person got their food for pick up. The line went out the door for pickups (10-15 people deep)… they started filling orders of people for pick up that were NOT EVEN sat the restaurant 😳. By 11:45, the couple in front of me, left and gave up and I was in front of line. People in line told me they placed their orders through the phone day before. They filled those orders before my Monday online order and while I was standing first in the line. I finally asked for the managaer and explained I had been waiting one hour and I had to have my food for the reunion. They too pity on me and filled it. They forgot the sauce and fries but I caught the error.

We were just grateful to get out of there with food to take to the reunion. Horrible experience, pure chaos and disorder. Someone at the bar said it was like this every home game! Never will I order food again from them.

The ribs were good and sides were good. But the pork had no bark, just stringy and the brisket was half fat and what was sliced was tough to chew.

Please plan accordingly if you need food for a special event. We were...

Rude rude rude i asked water no ice got it. I asked for the leg and thigh to go with my brisket. I got the pulled chicken that i didnt ask for. I asked for more water no ice brought me ice to the top with very little water. I asked the manager who brought out the riblets for napkins he didnt bring any. Asked my waitress for napkins when she brought my plates out. She didnt bring them. Waitress had the nerves to bring me my check after only three bits on my main meal. So i stopped eating she came right back over there and said would you like to go boxes i said yeah. She then said i will take that check now i gave it to her. She CAME flying back cause i didnt put my card in there. I gave her my card and told her to bring the manager back with it. He came back he said sorry for her bad attitude. He asked if we wanted ice tea to go and water we said yes. I wanted sweet tea and water no ice. Husband wanted water and sweet tea with ice. MANAGER BROUGHT TWO WATERS NO ICE TWO UNSWEETENED ICE TEAS. Manager is a teacHER of bad behavior. Wont get my business my family's business or my company's business. We will go else where with your dried up brisket. I wish it could be a minus or a button will not...
