Kampo Cuisine — Restaurant in Auburn

We live a block away from Kampo, so we had to try it when they opened. We tried the Genereal Tsao's Chicken, Mandarin Chicken and Sweet and Sour Chicken. We ordered an appetizer of the crab stuffed won tons. All of the chicken dishes were out of this world good! The crab wonton's, those are normally our favorite, but the ones we ordered from here were very small and had barely any filling. That is the only reason I did not give them 5 stars. This will not keep us from going back though, we will go back and we are excited to try new dishes off of the menu. The people running it are SO NICE! As the prior review says, they certainly know how to handle take out orders. All sauce on the sides, nothing soggy and everything was super fresh! Where to start?….. very sketchy area and door is kept locked so you have to stand in the dark and call when you get there to pick up your food. Building is supposedly a restaurant, looks like a house. Got there 10 min after food said to be done only to be told when I called at front door it wasn’t ready. Everything was very soggy and I’m not sure how they are selling this “chicken” in dishes that they call chicken but I’ve never had anything like it. Someone else mentioned tubes of “chicken” and that’s it, the so called meat is all the same very slender, long pieces of rubbery, stringy substance. Does not resemble any type of meat I’ve ever seen or eaten. Gravy for almond chicken was horrible. Also you do NOT get any rice with any of their entrees. I've never been disappointed with their food. Everything I've ordered has been delicious. I always order for delivery. I did have one time that the food took quite a while to receive, but that was one order out of 6 times. The food is hot and packed well for delivery. I especially appreciate that Kampo Cuisine, doesn't skimp on the meat, as some Chinese restaurants do. The salt and pepper chicken wings are delicious and a good price. I highly recommend this restaurant!

UPDATE It's 2020 and in the midst of the Pandemic. I still love Kampo Cuisine and trust their food. Just ordered again last week and still absolutely delicious high quality Chinese food. Deliveries are well packaged and haven't ever leaked. They're on time and nice people. I usually call to place my order, it's just easier for me to bypass Grubhub and Door dash.
