Since when did MCD's start "discriminating" against Uber drivers in the drive thru?
I hadn't eaten all day, so when I went to pick up an Uber eats order at this location, I asked to order 2 breakfast burritos for myself as well from the order screen in drive thru.
I was refused service by "Megan" because I was an Uber driver? I was told it was "Corporate" policy not to serve drivers in drive thru? (10:33pm). I questioned her as to why? "...Because it would take time out of delivery?" (I Waited in line 25 minutes before getting to window.).
At the order box I pointed out that people often place separate orders in drive thru. I pointed out that I expected anytime an order was placed, it should be expected it would be ready at the window? ( It was ""2"" breakfast burritos ) I did not see the point of refusal unless she was just discriminating against me for being a driver?..
What was her point when I pointed out the obvious? She again told me it was policy, some may take my order but weren't supposed to. (Not only have I always ordered at other McDonalds, I've even been offered a free cup of coffee a couple of times).
She argued her point over and over it was policy not discrimination. Even with the obvious. It didn't end there, she said: "Are you going to pick up your order? ...or continue to argue with me? ... because I didn't have to pick it up..."
Twenty-Five minutes later, at the window, I asked for the corporate number or the owners. They were not happy with me. At the window I expressed my opinion again to a dark haired woman and was told the same. Meagan and the dark haired woman asked me to pull around and wait. A few minutes later the dark haired lady brought out a business card and wanted to re-asure me it was policy not discrimination.
(noun) DISCRIMINATION the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different -- ""categories of people"" -- or things, especially on the grounds of race, age, or sex.) ( Uber driver?)
From there it got worse. I drove 4 miles to deliver. The customer pointed out the order was too large and she did not order drinks. While there, I called the store and brought it to their attention while on delivery with customer. I had told the customer about my circumstance and interaction with Megan moments before. I offered to take it back and get the right order free of charge.
While over Bluetooth, the customer said to Megan over the phone, ... Please see that Willis gets something to eat, he is hungry and Megan said sure.
(( 8 miles later, I returned the wrong order and was met at the side door. (11:45 pm, One hour and 15 minutes later from the time I arrived to pick up...)). I exchanged 1 order for the other. I asked Megan what she was going to do with the returned order I brought back? Megan said they remade that order and sent it out. They were going to account for the return and then throw it out.
(I WAS STILL HUNGRY, there was no appology or even an offer to make me feel better with maybe the food she would throw out? I was offering the xtra mile at my expense, not McDonalds)
(12 miles and 1.75 hours later, I brought the right order to the customer). I don't get paid for time I could have made more money, I only get paid $1 per mile on a delivery. ($6.01 includes miles and service fee for that delivery. 4 miles time 3 ways, 12 miles???)
This was Thursday into Friday the 19th. I slept Friday and came back out to drive. Today, Saturday,I have since done 3 deliveries with McD's and asked each if that was their policy? They were appauled I was treated that way... I assume it was the policy of those 2 women. Not McDonalds. So was it laziness?, ineptitude to make 2 burritos in 25 minutes of wait time or in my opinion, discrimination because I was an Uber driver?, ... Besides a large waist of my time, does it really matter that I'm a driver or is it as I see it......
Read moreAlmost a terrible experience but Rosa saved the day . I am located in SE auburn but for whatever reason the app put my order at the N Auburn location so originally I went to the wrong one but drove 90 MPH to get my breakfast in time as I am out from work today cause of my breathing.
I gave them my order number and all that and they couldn’t find my order and I waited for management . They told me to pull to the window, the gentlemen taking orders was very nice and helpful but the lady there was very rude claimed I was arguing and told me they “ran out of breakfast” I asked do they not cook or is it like a shelter where a specific number of items is brought a day she didn’t understand the question and asked what I would like for her to say I told her to just say she doesn’t want to make the order but the least she could do is give me a receipt with customer services number. She said she didn’t have the number and to pull up to the next window. Which I did, I pulled up to the next window and they basically threw me a napkin with a 253 number on it clearly not cooperate so I waited and called the number while at the window no answer.
Thank Yahweh Rosa asked me what was going on saw I was frustrated and helped me out . I don’t even support Mc. Donald’s given their placing in current world issues but I am not feeling good an was craving some she saw my concerns and helped me out and made it last minute and told me I needed to pay again I gladly did and she made my order . This is not to say make a fuss on the food this is to say I really appreciate her willingness to help me out and make me food like that because I was unaware my order would...
Read moreI don't know what to say, If you go during the day everything seems to be good, but I will tell you when 5PM hits, it is like this place turns into a completely different company. So this review is for the night crew. I get its fast food, I get different cooks, but the standards fall short every single night. Last night I asked for a 20 piece Nugget meal, which simplifies the order. I was told we can not do a meal for a 20 piece. I said click on 20 Pc, click on LG drink, Click on Large Fry... boom a meal. The person had to go get a manager and we sat at the order box for 7 minutes awaiting to finalize the order. My fav is when I order 2 McDoubles no pickles no onions large fry and a large drink and they ask me to pull into the waiting stall, where I sit for an extra 9 minutes. You would think not adding something you make all the time would be faster and If I say no I will wait here at the window because you take to long when I park, the manager comes up and says then she will refund my order. I looked at her in complete disbelief, and I said you'll lose a customer or an order because you are inefficient? She said no but my regional says we have so much time per order at drive through. So you make people park mark their order as done so you look better. To my amazement she said YES. I asked her my order was 2 McDoubles no pickles no onions how does it take longer... her answer because we are short staffed. So I again asked so doing less takes longer with a short staff? I could have understood this if I had added but subtracting makes NO SENSE. I firmly believe that when management doesn't understand how could the...
