So disappointing! I read about this new restaurant and I went there this evening with my wife and four other couples. We were given menus and a list of beers on tap. But as we ordered various beers from the list we were given we were told by our waitress that they were not available. We asked to see a list of beers that were available on tap. The waitress left and said she would get the information. Later another waitress came to our table and said that she was our waitress. We said that we already had a waitress who was gone to get a list of draft beers available. The new waitress said that she was our waitress now so we again asked to see which beers were on tap. She said the beers on tap were on the list given to us before. We shared that when we ordered beers before from the list they were not available. The waitress said something about not being able to change the paper list everyday. So my wife ordered a beer from the menu and she was told by the waitress that it was not available. My wife said "OK, well I do not want anything to drink." She was not being rude, she was just making it known she did not want another brand of beer. The waitress then said, "Well y'all can go, and you are not welcome back." Or something to that effect. We were all in shock. Believe me we will never go back! None in our party have ever been treated this way in any establishment ever before. We go out as a group every Friday evening, and we like to support local restaurants. Tavern on the Traxs was a new experience for us. Such a...
Read moreCannot leave less than one star, but would if possible. To start with, we were seated at a dirty table. After asking numerous employees several times, the table was never cleaned. The loaded fries appetizer was a very small portion for $10 and not very tasty. Burgers took WAY too long to cook, were overcooked, and definitely not worth $15 even if cooked properly. I had to go inside to ask for ketchup (since our waitress forgot everything we asked) and was given an empty bottle! All three of us never received drink refills, so we ate the majority of our meals with nothing to drink. We had a to go order for a son that was not with us and his burger was almost raw. Had to cook that more at home! Asked for a to go box for a barely eaten kids meal (hit McDonald's on the way home) and again the waitress forgot. I went back inside and happened to be helped by the manager. I explained our experience to him and he offered to give me a voucher for a percentage off our next visit if I'd come back tomorrow to pick that up?? I told him we would not be coming back and his response was "I'm sorry to hear that. Have a nice day." He then turned and walked away! Repeat business is clearly not a priority. In between the terrible service and the less than mediocre food, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. It appeared that patrons partaking in alcohol were treated better, so maybe just go there for booze?? There are plenty of other places downtown Auburn for...
Read moreIf I could leave negative stars, I would. While the restaurant replied to my wife’s review that it was a “shift change,” I’m calling that out as nonsense. There were five people who watched us sit for more than fifteen minutes without even being greeted. First, there was the guy at the door who was right next to me but too busy on his phone. Then there were the two bartenders who were too busy with their side work to bother coming five to ten feet further down the bar to greet us. Then there were the two other employees hanging out at the end of the bar watching/talking to the bartenders - to be fair, the woman did seem to go in back to do something, but the guy in the ball cap just stood there, watching the side work.
The worst part is we went in because they have top shelf bourbon, or so we discovered when we had a mediocre lunch a few weeks back, and we were excited because where else can you get a van Winkle around here? Yea, maybe I have high standards because I worked in restaurants years ago, but I don’t think expecting someone to greet you within a few minutes and not ignore you for fifteen is unreasonable.
So, restauranteurs, respond to my review that it was a “shift change” and make all the excuses you want as to why five different employees ignored us. As I said, if I could leave negative stars I would. Oh, and did I mention that our lunch a few weeks back...
