I have been to Acre plenty of times, the food is always great, the drinks are the best, and the service is superior. Last night I brought my boyfriend there for his birthday dinner. We waited no more than 8 minutes for consummate Cody to come by our table and apologize for the wait, which wasn’t even long at all, but we were grateful for his acknowledgment of it. Cody was so kind, so knowledgeable, and ended up not charging me for my drink because of the wait which he didn’t have to do, but that is the standard that Acre holds themselves to. When our food came, I truly loved it, but my boyfriend didn’t care for the taste of the sauce with his steak so he didn’t eat it. Being a former server myself I was a little taken aback, and slightly embarrassed that we’d have to explain why he didn’t like it. Cody came by and asked him what it was that he didn’t care for, was grateful for the feedback, and removed the meal from our bill which he didn’t have to do at all. Because they take such pride in what they do, who they are, and their guest experience the manager came out to chat with us because he genuinely cared and wanted my boyfriend to be happy. Later, they gave us a peanut butter pie to share and end the night on a sweet note.
Having said all that, I cannot be more grateful for Cody, the wonderful manager (whose name has unfortunately left me), and the rest of the always wonderful staff at this immeasurably matchless restaurant. Thank you all for going above and beyond to ensure we had an excellent experience last night. I apologize for being that difficult couple, but you all never once made me feel uncomfortable or awkward when the situation was going on. You all truly handled things with grace and respect that made me feel you truly valued and appreciated our feedback.
It is for this reason that I have always and will continue to sing Acre’s praises for their dedication to extraordinary service and quality that David Bancroft and the team have shown at Acre and Bow and Arrow!
Thank you all so much for your kindness, and thank you, Cody for making our night...
Read more6/27/2024 reservation time: 11:45 a.m. I was excited to come for lunch on my birthday. Our server Reagan was subpar at best. They had a birthday card on the table when we arrived (nice touch), we were seated in the bar area and Reagan had 2 other tables for reference. We sat for over 10 minutes before she came over to introduce herself. I was surprised that she never acknowledged my birthday. We ordered 2 cocktails and the fried green tomato appetizer. Our appetizer came before our 2 cocktails, which was unacceptable for a non busy lunch at 11:45 on a Thursday. She had no urgency at all, never said let me check on it, we had to ask about our drinks. The next thing might sound petty but for an upscale resturant this should never happen. My husband spilled the tomatoes on the table and said to her, I'm sorry I made a mess.... she never said let me clean that up, just said "No worries" and walked away. When she finally came back with drinks, I asked her if she would not mind cleaning it up - another 10 minutes go by without anything. Finally, I was annoyed, it's right in front of me and I had to work around the mess, I said when she walked by could I get a napkin to clean this up, she said oh sorry, and came and did clean it. I ordered a burger medium well, it was served rare. I had it sent back and when I got the new burger my husband was almost done. This part I do not get, our martini glass and whiskey glass sat empty and NOTone time did she ask if we wanted another drink. She did apologize several times about the burger. My read on it was she did not write down how I asked for it to be prepared. I love the aestetic/decor of Acre, plus the vibe has always been good and for most part the food is great, but at this price point and considering it's a fine dining restaurant, the service was subpar. I never saw a manager nor was asked how is everything. I'm truly disappointed with the service on this special day for me and the negative...
Read moreMy wife and I went here with reservations for our wedding anniversary. It’s a quaint little place and reminds you a bit of a lodge with farmhouse vibes. When we got there they had complimentary valet parking though we did tip the parking attendant as we left. The staff was friendly and did check on us regularly throughout our meal. The menu at this restaurant does change with season. On this night I went with the New York Strip with cowboy butter, crispy shallots and oven roasted carrots. It was at least 39 minutes after we ordered before our food hit the table. The steak was tasty with the cowboy butter but was a little overcooked to my order. I had asked for medium but it was more like medium well and on the edges it was well done. The carrots had a good flavor but were a little more al dente than I prefer. At $53, I was hoping for more options for choice of sides and more than just one. I didn’t ask if there was a choice so there may have been but the menu seemed to be set for each dish. We did have a Caesar salad prior to dinner which was good but the croutons were very hard and tough to chew into without fear of breaking a crown. My wife went with the Gulf Flounder Picatta. The fish was a nice size piece of fish. The crust though was a bit bland and the caper butter sauce was ok. My wife did swap out her sweet potato puree with regular mashed potatoes. They were ok as well but nothing special. My wife did order an extra side of braised collard greens with hearth smoked bacon. The greens were good with a little spicy kick. We only had water for drinks and our bill with tax and tips totaled out at $135. It was a special occasion so I was fine with it though it may be considered pretty pricey for just a regular sit down meal. We would go here again but would probably look closer at the menu since it does change to help us make the decision if we...
