I am not one to write google review but one needs to be made. So I had never been to Tacorita, but heard good things and since it was back, I thought I would invite a friend to try it out.
My issue was more with the service but to summarize the food: The salsa was so bland it tasted like they grab a cheap can from Walmart and placed it in there. When I got my tacos, the carne asada was tasty. But the other two (BBQ Pork and Firecracker Shrimp) were inedible. The sauce they had on both of them I couldn’t place but they tasted like a flavor I’ve never had but could have gone my life without knowing. for me, the food was not up to my taste buds but I’d like to note everyone had different tastes.
Now my main issue: The service. Service started off great, but when it came time to pay is when I was shocked and it ruined the whole meal. When our server came over for us to pay, I went first and he left the card reader for me to pay as I was finding my card in my purse. I tapped to pay and tipped 18% and signed the line (which my friend saw me do cause my signature was funky at the angle I was signing). So I was done and then my friend paid and it was fine for her. Then he checked to make sure it all went through then turns to me and says “Did you mean to not leave a tip”. Mind you my friend and I look at each other cause we both saw me leave a tip. So being the person I am I say that I did click the tip button so I’m not sure why it would say I didn’t. I almost thought about leaving cash in case I didn’t but then I thought two things 1: I only had a 20 and that was almost a 66% tip and 2: Even if I had not tipped, that is not an appropriate thing for a waiter to say. It rubbed me in the wrong way and even a few hours after that dinner I am still thinking about it.
If I get invited by in the distant future maybe I’ll try it again but I will probably not go back until they make some changes to the food and improve...
Read moreWe arrived at the location around 5pm. We were told there would be a fifteen minute wait which we agreed to. We were seated at 5:30pm. Our waitress immediately greeted us. Let me say, all the staff were very nice. Unfortunately, our waitress was less than attentive. We were at first informed that they were out of chips(they are not complimentory), but then told they received more. We ordered the chips and queso for 6.49. We also ordered the Firecracker taco, cheesy chicken taco, Southern fried chicken taco, and the pork tinga taco. We were met with Tostinos brand chips. STORE BOUGHT CHIPS. The chips were also half crushed. We were also met with mid queso that was also probably store bought. The firecracker taco had no other qualities other than spicy. It was a bland and boring spice. The cheesy chicken taco had zero flavor. It's not even worth noting. The southern fried chicken taco was nothing special, it was also bland. Id also like to note it was just a chcken finger coated in sauce The pork tinga taco had some sludge they called slaw slopped onto it. Our food took over 40 minutes to arrive. Overall the experience was underwhelming. It was frustrating to wait so long for food that was flavorless and boring. I think this place has potential. Maybe start with homemade chips and add some seasoning...
Read moreWent there to celebrate a friend's birthday on a Wednesday night, so we got to the resturant around 7:30 pm. There was wait time for 20 mins and we got our tables at 7:57pm. The ordeal started after we got to our table, we were famished as we ordered our starters immediately around 8:00pm. Thankfully, at least we got our starters of chips and queso in 5 mins since ordering. But we had to wait for an additional hour for our entrees. All we had until then were the chips, salsa and queso. The hour long wait made us hog on the last bit of chips (can be seen in the pic along) that were left in our basket and not to forget, our water (much like a savior) as we didn't plan on drinking that night. It was too long of a wait time for our food to arrive and finally it was served at 8:55pm which wasn't even scrumptious after all that waiting. Moreover, the staff were already prepping for closing time and we hardly had time to enjoy our meal. Neither our mood nor time permitted ordering any additional entree's as we left the place disappointed and deep regrets. The person who waited our table was apologetic for the waiting time caused by chaotic times but that can't change the fact that our special night was...
