Let me start off by saying…they had great service and the food was very fresh and good. I wouldn’t say great because the catfish and fries were lacking seasoning. I added salt/pepper and hot sauce to the catfish myself and it was still bland. The hush puppies were amazing though and the tarter sauce. But the reason I give them a 3/5 is because IT IS A DIVE BAR. Please do not go here and think it’s a cutesy and I saw cozy in the description of this restaurant…because it is not. It is a complete dive bar. I don’t understand why they don’t market themselves as such because Augusta area needs more of them. When we walked in and it said seat yourself and then took 5-10 minutes to be spoken too and get drinks….and picnic tables with writing all on them…I knew it was a dive bar. Also past customers had signed the wall and wrote quotes and there names on it. Very dive bar esq. Me personally I do not like care for that type of experience if I’m paying $40 for 2 po boys and hush puppies and 2 drinks at lunch time…because usually dive bars are known for being cheaper since they don’t offer the same atmosphere as a regular fish camp. If you take your whole family there including kids just know it’s a dive bar with picnic tables as the seating area. And it’s loud and in a small compact space so if you have sensory issues it wouldn’t be a pleasant experience. Like I said before if I had known it was a Dive bar with prices like that I wouldn’t have went and would have tired another fish camp.

Oops. These are not pictures of Rhinehart's Oyster Bar but then again I did not see any signs of an "Oyster Bar" anywhere in Rinehart's while I was there! The service was phenomenal. The mixed drinks were both tasty and effective! The food was excel... fantas... actually the food was meh. I mean the Baked Talapia was absolutely edible. Served on a bed of dirty rice and some toasted bread, yeah. It was good. I was a wee bit confused by the large number of elderly patrons who made a "Cocoon" like exit not long after we were seated. The elderly party was gathered in what looked like a big party room as deep inside the establishment as one could safely... nah, safe-ishly wander. I assume they finished early because one young man made a "roll" for it. But couldn't clear the barstools from his path so he got cornered. Actually I don't think the barstools caused as much of an impediment as the "barflies" perched atop them did. But humans don't get that old without having a surplus of tenacity mixed with good Ole stubbornness. Nobody appeared to have been run over... Wait, why the heck am I writing this? The food was great. I was hungry when I arrived. Full and tipsy when I left. The service was good... what else... yeah! That'll do I think. Now go look at my hummingbirds!

Great local place! Be sure to order the specials for some really great deals, which often are listed online. The entire St Pat's weekend, they had a delicious mixed drink for $4, and specific bottles for $2.50. Combine those with regularly specials that run every week AND delicious food, you will immediately see why this is a local favorite. Obviously, they're known for their Oysters. These were easily some of the best priced, best quality oysters in town. But other things to be sure to try - any of the chicken finger dishes, the French fries (especially with Ranch or Honey Mustard if you are a sauce person), or even just the burger. I can't swear by the few "Cajun" items as I've not ordered them yet, and I'm quite picky about Cajun food. But folks this is a real local gem. It's not swanky, it's not glitzy. But it's got a ton of charm, a hole-in-the-wall feel, and friendly staff!

We went out to eat tonight to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary where we met 30 years ago & it went to hell real quick, fast, & in a hurry!! So, obviously choosing to try to carry out anniversary dinner plans at 1030 at night, after an extreme emergency last night was not the greatest idea after all. We FINALLY get to Rhinehart's & soon as we stepped in, we asked if they were closed & a nice little waiter said, "no we're not closed." We thought, ok, WONDERFUL! My husband had been talking about that "SHRIMP BURGER" all freaking day & my mouth was watering for FRIED OYSTERS, OYSTERS ON THE HALF SHELL & FRIED PICKLES!! We go the bar to sit down & we were greeted nicely by the BARTENDER who so nicely sat us down to take OUR, not just MY ORDER!! My husband explains he wants the "SHRIMP BURGER!" Been on his mind all day, he can taste it! "BARTENDER" states it'll take 16-20 minutes to cook..So, my husband says "ok, great! My wife n I will have a cocktail while we wait." I said "I'll have fried pickles for our appetizer along with oysters on the half shell & the 12 oyster dinner plate." We placed our drink order to. "One long island iced tea & a naked iguana & a sweet tea please." The anticipation is killing us. We can't wait for this great food. The drinks come & they were horrible. All 3 of them. Tea wasn't sweet. Both alcoholic drinks were way too strong & I asked the "BARTENDER" to please add pineapple to my naked iguana. Let me throw in there I haven't had an alcoholic drink in 12 years til last night & I got reminded real quick why I quit drinking 12 years ago. Anyways, moving on..fried pickles came. They were awesome! Oysters on the half shell came, they were awesome as well. Even convinced my husband to FINALLY try one n he kinda liked it, but not really. As for me, they were awesome! Little bit later, comes my oyster supper w/my side salad. Then, I put off eating my supper, til my husband's shrimp burger gets here...tick, tock....nothing....I'm almost done with my meal at this point, but I still have my side salad left & so my husband begins to nitpick at my side salad cuz his foods not here yet & he's hungry...So FINALLY, I asked the BARTENDER.."Ma'am, how much longer on his shrimp burger? She says to us, "YOU NEVER ORDERED IT!" We looked at each other in disbelief! "HUH?" So, we had to remind her that "umm, yes ma'am we did cuz see we told you that we'd have a cocktail while we waited." She said, "yeah but you never said you wanted it." Ok, so at this point, we're both a tiny bit upset but NOT PISSED at this point..we chalked it up to a misunderstanding, miscommunication, whatever..The "BARTENDER" then walked over to her little computer screen, & we assumed she was making adjustments to our bill & we ALL kinda laughed it off n continued to wait..20 minutes later (it's about 1130 now) AGAIN, A 2ND TIME, I asked the "BARTENDER" "ma'am how much longer for my husband's SHRIMP BURGER?" The "BARTENDER" ROLLS HER EYES AT ME & SAYS "THE GRILL HAS BEEN OFF FOR OVER AN HOUR, SO THEY'RE NOT COOKING ANYTHING ELSE TONIGHT!!!!" I WAS SO PISSED AT THIS POINT, I HAD TO WALK OUT THE RESTAURANT BEFORE I SHOWED A BETTER PART OF ME THAT NO-ONE WANTED TO SEE & I DIDN'T WANT TO EMBARRASS MYSELF!! I WALKED OUT, SMOKED A CIGARETTE & WALKED BACK IN & STATED "U MEAN TO TELL ME, MY HUSBAND JUST SAT HERE, WATCHED ME ENJOY MY FOOD, NEVER GET HIS & HAS TO LEAVE HERE HUNGRY??" HOW IN THE HELL DID SHE NEVER HEAR HIS ORDER?? MY HUSBANDS TELLING ME TO CALM DOWN & IT WAS A MISTAKE & BLAH, BLAH..I THEN STATED, "SO, NOW I HAVE TO FEED MY HUSBAND KRYSTALS OR WHATEVER'S OPEN BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T HEAR HIM ORDER HIS FOOD?? THIS IS BS!! ILL BE IN TOUCH WITH THE OWNERS FIRST THING TOMORROW!! 1ST TIME, OK A MISTAKE, WHATEVER, BUT A 2ND TIME!?!?!? HELL NO!!" Needless to say we left & I was infuriated!! We stopped at WENDY'S otw home n my husband got a "heart attack in a sack" & we called it a night. Whatever that "BARTENDERS" name is, deserves to be FIRED!!!!!...

Today seemed like a good day and perfect time to take my daughter to this restaurant for the first time. I’ve been to Rhineharts numerous times but typically late at night. Giving it was early afternoon time around 1 pm I figured the service would be quick and easy. Upon arrival we were greeted by our server and offered drinks and soon there after we put in our order for food. At that point it started to pick up as more customers arrived, but I wasn’t worried because again we had placed our order. A few minutes went by and one table that arrived after us got their food. The table beside us, those customers complained to the same waiter we had about why their food had not arrived. Keep in mind these customers arrived before we had so I understand their frustration. However, I decided to be patient because I know things happen. Then, another table got their food. Then a third table got their food. So at this point my frustration began. About 10 minutes later a different waitress brought out our food and I requested to speak to a manager about the wait. It was only then that our original waiter finally checked on us bringing more drinks and I also asked him to speak to a manager. A few minutes went by again and apparently the table beside us asked to speak to a manager because a lady came and spoke to them. Once the lady was done speaking to them she went back inside. You would think she would stop and talk to us “to kill two birds with one stone”. Nonetheless, I still decided to be patient. We finished our meals and the waiter came back asking if the manager came by. I told him no but we were ready for our check. He came back with the check offering 25% off, which was gracious but not enough. So since the manager didn’t have time to speak to me, I figured I’d leave this review to voice my concerns to someone who may...

Food: 3 Customer Service: 5 Ambience: 3 Location/ Parking: 5 Cleanliness: 3 Reservations: NA

This Rhinehart's Oyster Bar is situated on Washington Road in Augusta, GA and conveniently located near the I-20 interstate. We decided to try them yesterday for dinner, because we noticed that they had good Google and YELP reviews. This is an popular seafood restaurant that offers southern-style seafood, raw oysters, sandwiches and cold brews.

Upon arrival we couldn't help but to notice that they had alot of parking, and they can accommodate small and large vehicles. When we entered the establishment they have signs to inform their customers to seat themselves. So we decided to seat indoors at the full bar so we could enjoy sme of the NCAAF College football games. They have alot of televisions and plenty of staff, so we didn't have to wait very long to place our order.

We decided to try their daily special which was a fried shrimp and chicken finger combo ($10.50). The food was seasoned very well and both my spouse and I truly enjoyed everything we ordered. We wish that there was more fish and chicken, because it seemed like most of the combo was fries. But overall this was a good experience and the food is very affordable.

I'm not sure if we would return or recommend this place to friends and family members. The facility was not very clean and more like a rowdy sports bar rather than a seafood restaurant. But if anyone's looking for some fried foods and an quick dining option...then I'd probably would recommend this...
