The overall experience was pleasant but pretty underwhelming for us. The tea room looked a little rundown and our tea cups had dust on them as well as several of the plates had multiple cracks and chips. The food was tasty in general but not great and was overpriced. The lemon curd on the side was obviously made in house and tasted very fresh, the finger sandwiches were good (wish there were more of them), the scones were nothing special, the strawberry cakes were too sweet, the carrot cakes were delicious, and the lemon curd cakes were good, but we weren't impressed with getting lemon curd twice as a flavor. The orange blossom tea was decent. The waiter was nice but was absent most of our meal and we were the only ones in the place at the time. The last disappointment was getting served afternoon tea when I had made a reservation for high tea. Since this was my first time here, I didn't realize this until basically the end of the meal when I confusedly asked the waiter if 'that was it?' and he confirmed. At least we were not charged for high tea. Again, it was a pleasant experience and I'm glad we were able to go, but doubt we...
Read moreJust had an amazing afternoon of food, tea and friendly service! We started with pots of teas and scones. I had a special flavored oolong that was so delicious i finished the whole pot. The scones were tender with great flavors, delicious with cream and fruit curds. We ordered hearty meals of soup, salad n sandwiches...the squash and apple soup was so good. Can't wait to try more soups. Hubby and i split our chicken salad and roast beef paninis because we wanted to try it all! Loved both sandwiches...again great flavor. Plenty of food for even our hubby's to eat. Service was outstanding and so friendly...the gentleman working had great hustle as there were several full tables but was always so friendly. The space is beautiful and airy even on a grey day...sophisticated but not stuffy! Can't wait to return for a ladies afternoon with our moms. Small business...
Read moreI think I may have left a review before but it's been a while (at least 2 years) so I thought I'd leave an updated one.
I've been here for 2 wedding showers, 1 baby shower, a few high teas and just recently lunch. Service is slow, it is one man show doing cooking, tea prep, and more. However, the atmosphere is lovely. It's a nice tea room and the food is good. I would highly recommend it for special occasions and making reservations for high tea. It's a locally owned business so you're supporting someone in the neighborhood.
Had lunch recently with my sisters on the 11/27/24 and we greatly enjoyed it. I had a Cuban sandwich with the pear and walnut salad. My two sisters had the egg salad and bean soup. As a warning, if you want your tea to be warmer and stay hot longer, request it to be heated for longer, especially if you are getting...
