Date Night
My husband and me live in Colorado Springs and had our date at, “A Bit Twisted Brewpub Bar & BBQ.“
The moment we walked in, it felt like we were welcomed into a cozy gathering rather than a typical dining experience.
The Owners Matt and Mike always have great energy, making it the perfect spot to unwind after a long week. Every visit feels like a mini celebration, whether it’s a casual dinner or a special occasion with their contagious smiles and service. It gives you the vibes of “Cheers,” where everyone knows your name. It truly felt like we were part of a big family rather than just patrons. As we settled into our seats, the atmosphere buzzed with laughter and the clinking of glasses, creating a lively backdrop for our evening.
The food was nothing short of amazing. Matt's ribs were tender and flavorful, perfectly complemented by the Cajun fries.
Rosie's taco’s with homemade slaw added a delightful crunch. The Banana pudding was the perfect sweet ending to our meal, rich and creamy with just the right amount of sweetness. Each bite felt like a warm embrace, echoing the genuine hospitality that enveloped us.
Denesha kept our drinks flowing and made sure we were well taken care of, sharing stories and jokes that added to the fun. It was clear that everyone in the pub not only worked together but genuinely cared about their customers and each other.
As the night went on, we found ourselves chatting with other guests, swapping stories and laughter, feeling completely at home. The combination of delicious food, welcoming service, and a vibrant atmosphere made our date unforgettable.
We left with full hearts and stomachs, already planning our next visit to A Bit Twisted, where we felt like part of the...
Read moreThis place may well be a hidden gem. In terms of beer (my primary endeavor when exploring a place like this) they had a good selection and it definitely did provide that homebrewed feel. All of this being said not every beer Ive had here is a hit to me, but they do provide a specific profile which others might enjoy.
In contrast there are many beers which I do enjoy here and it just might take some experimentation to find what tickles your fancy! When it comes tofood I feel this place has an odd and almost legendary status. It's really a Smoke pit/bbq place and does an incredible job fulfilling that role.
Coming from someone from small town PNW this place did give me a back home vibe with slightly different service style. It is fun, casual, and community oriented without being pretentious. That being said it wasn't the Midwestern or rural PNW service I was too accustomed too.
All things considered I was surprised to see this place quiet in a Sunday late afternoon but it was amazing to see the family vibe they had at that time. I have been here once prior on a Wednesday evening and it was bustling so I know they have a demand whether it be delicious bbq or full bar with craft beers.
I will certainly be checking back on a regular basis for the delicious food, variety of drinks, and hometown...
Read moreI’m not one to leave negative reviews unless it’s truly deserved. I’m not sure who the people are who say the food here is “amazing” and how this place has supposedly won awards for their food. The only good thing about my experience here was the beer I ordered. That was delicious. The food - not so much. Zero flavor to the barbecue sauce, microwaved baked beans, potato salad had literally zero flavor, and the bbq platter comes with such a small portion of meat it’s like 3 slices of meat. The meat was also dry and had zero flavor. I’m a picky eater and don’t usually like things with “too much” flavor, but this food and supposed barbecue had ZERO. I’ve never experienced bbq in my life that has literally no flavor whatsoever except at this place.
There were people playing poker at a poker table that the bar hosts, and it seemed very cliquey with regulars (in a bad way). My boyfriend and I spent around $70 here and we were both extremely disappointed and we will never return or recommend this place to anyone. We also both had upset stomachs later that night that we didn’t have before eating here.
Bottom line - if you want a decent tasty beer selection, go here. If you want edible food, run away...
