This is one of those places you tell your friends about. Do you appreciate an amazing sandwich? Then you'll fall in love here. My first time was a little bumpy. I was looking for tacos. Quality tacos to be exact. And I saw tortas on the window while driving to work everyday. Thought I'd try and see if I could score here. No tacos. I wouldn't even classify this as a Mexican joint, as Google does. It's very Hispanic though. Tortas (basically sandwiches with Hispanic flare) of all kinds here. It's a specialty restaurant and they are very very good at what they do. I've tried the Chiva and the Colorada. Both flavor explosive orchastras in every bite🤤. Anyhoo... My first time they were overcome with a larger crowd than they expected. My wait time was a little nuts but Oscar (I think an owner) is mindful of his customers. He made it up to me and that really impressed me. I've owned a small business before, it's tough! These are very caring owners, treat them well while you scarf your face in torta heaven! I'm looking forward to trying the Cuban( It's a famed sandwich) and a...
Read moreThis was my first time trying Las Tortugas and unfortunately, it will be my last. I ordered a breakfast burrito, a Norteña Torta, and some churros. While the burrito and churros were just okay, the real disappointment was the Torta.
According to the menu, the Norteña Torta should come with refried beans, tomatoes, onions, avocados, mayo, jalapeños or chipotle, chorizo, steak, and melted cheese. What I actually received was just chorizo on a piece of bread—no cheese, no steak, no beans, no veggies, no sauces—literally none of the listed ingredients besides the chorizo.
I paid $15 for what was essentially meat and bread. If this had been an in-store order, I would have asked for a refund on the spot. Unfortunately, I placed this order online for takeout, so I didn’t realize the issue until I got home.
This felt like a complete rip-off, and I do not plan on returning. Very...
Read moreI wish you give me an option to leave zero stars! Very unfriendly customer service and even worse food. Nobody speaks when you enter the building. They just look at you. I handed the lady my $20 cash. She didn’t even have the decency to hand my change back to me. She left it on the counter set it on the counter, made me pick it up off the counter. As far as the food. This burrito is supposed to have cheese and green something they said! This burrito is so dry you will choke, eating it. I called back to see if they would rectify and give this some cheese and some type of moisture! Nope. they say that’s how it is. Unfriendly service, and a waste of your money. It used to be a nice...
