Our greeter was friendly and we were seated in the bar area at a booth per our request, it wasn't crowded at 830 on a Thursday night.
Our server was very friendly, upbeat and accommodating. We ordered 2 waters, a coke and a spicy margarita. The margarita was weak, sour and loaded with too much ice. Did not have another, ordered a regular beer instead. For an appetizer we had the Poblano Spinach Queso. Its served with toasted bread and tortilla chips and salsa for dipping. It was delicious! For our main meal we had one veggie burger with spicy fries. The fries are very spicy but I loved them as I can handle the heat. The veggie burger was not consumed at the restaurant as I was too full from the appetizers, srues and beverages. *this was my plan beI also wanted to split it with my mom-in-law who was at home. *At the time of this post it still hasn't been consumed so I have no comments about it other than it looks big and yummy. My husband ordered a well-done cheeseburger. The burger arrived with a lot of pink, more like a medium rare We brought it to our servers attention and before we even said anything she looked at it and said, "oh my,, that's what not well done". We felt bad for asking for anwell done burger but she was super nice and said no way- we will get you what you ordered. The new burger arrived and it was cooked to his liking. My husband ate a little over half and saved the rest. *This is the alarming part of his experience. About 90 minutes after we got home my husband was sick to his stomach. He spent the Entire night in and out of the bathroom. Full details need not be be disclosed here but his symptoms are that of food poison. This morning he is still sick to his stomach not able to drink water without getting sick.
He has had burgers from Bubba's on several occasions without an issue. We eat carry-out usually about 6-10 times a year. He was feeling great prior to our meal. We are unsure about what part of his meal made him sick- but something sure did.
He will most likely never eat a burger from Bubba's again because he is so sick. He also missed a very important work meeting this morning because of this. He is seeing his doctor today at 4pm to seek help.
So my review is- as it is. We enjoyed some of our food but are very concerned about the hamburger situation. Also, because husband is so incredibly sick (still 18hrs lafer) I fear eating the vegi burger that we saved. So we wasted a bit of money because of this situation.
I still recommend Bubba's 33 because our server was great, and we have had good experiences in the past.
Thank you and safe...
Read moreI’ve been coming to this restaurant regularly for years because I’ve always enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Unfortunately, my experience on July 4th was so disappointing that I’m honestly not sure I’ll ever return.
We arrived around 10:30 PM with a big group of about 10 people, expecting the same good service we usually get. Instead, from the moment we walked in, it felt tense and uncomfortable. Our waitress was visibly annoyed and acted like we were a burden she had to put up with.
She was extremely rude and prepotent the entire time. She barely looked at us when we spoke to her, and every question or request seemed to irritate her even more. Everyone at the table noticed her attitude—it wasn’t subtle at all—and we were all honestly shocked by how unprofessional she was.
When the food finally arrived, it was the worst we’ve ever had here. Some orders were incomplete, some tasted off, and the portions were inconsistent. My usual fries, which are always more than enough to share, came with maybe 15 fries on the plate, as if someone had already eaten from them.
When I asked about it, she didn’t even bother to check or explain. She just said, “That’s the portion,” in the most dismissive way possible and walked off without another word. No apology, no effort to help, nothing.
All ten of us were extremely upset, to the point that if it hadn’t been so late—and if we hadn’t been so hungry with everything else closed—we would have just left the food there and walked out without even touching it. That’s how uncomfortable and disrespected we felt.
We couldn’t even enjoy our meal because the atmosphere was so unpleasant. We felt completely disregarded and unwelcome, and honestly, it ruined the entire night for us. Most of us didn’t even finish our food because it didn’t taste right and we just wanted to leave.
For reference, the waitress was a white woman, larger build, with light-colored hair and very noticeable black eyeliner.
If you work in customer service, you should know that people come to spend their money and expect at least basic courtesy and respect. This was an unacceptable way to treat any customer, let alone a table of loyal regulars.
I also want to emphasize that if you don’t want to work, you’re not in the right mindset, or you are angry because it’s a holiday, then simply don’t come in. The customer is not responsible for your mood or whether you feel like doing your job. And if no one wants to serve customers properly, then don’t open at all. Because if you’re going to open just to provide terrible service, it’s honestly better to...
