Firehouse Subs Eagle's Nest — Restaurant in Aurora

Our past two visits have been poor experiences. Ordered a sandwich tonight and was advised they will not put pepper sauce on it, only option is to use the little cups and take it home with you. I've ordered the same sandwich that way for lunch and supper 2-3 times a month for the last six years. I've specifically oreded at this location numerous times. Asked for everything on it that is shown on the box desplay next to register where you order, lettuce, tomato, mustard, mayo, onion, etc. I arrived home and opened the box....just meat, cheese and mayo on the sandwich! Called and spoke to Kayla the manager who asked what sandwich I ordered and advised "that's all that comes on that sandwich". I said not if you order it "fully involved" the term used by the person at the register when I ordered. I mentioned that I was pretty sure she was also the one that told me I couldn't order the sandwich the way I have for six years. The response was essentially sorry that's how it is. I advised that this location would no longer get our business which was met with a similar response.

I place the accountability for this experience on ownership and the corporate office. If your not training, managing and ensuring that employees are prepared to succeed your setting them up to fail. The recent reviews at this location indicate that something has changed and not for the better.

I'll continue to eat at Firehouse as I appreciate their charitable contributions and feel the sandwichs are better than the other "sub" options.

Normally one of my favorite restaurants. Went in today and it was 3-4 young people working behind the counter and as I walked in I was told it would be 20miniute wait before I could order by the young lady with the black hair. About 2 minutes later a Caucasian couple walks in and the girl proceeds to take their order right away. So I immediately stand up and get in line because obviously the woman behind the counter had lied and was holding some sort of unspoken prejudice against me to tell me to wait 20min in an empty restaurant during lunch and then takes another couples order right after telling me that with a smirk on her face she takes my order asks if I would like a pickle on the side and doesnt even put it in my order. Doesn't apologize for poor service or anything just proceeds to ignore me. Worst service ever and the newer generation is not trained properly at all and are rude . High turnover on staff makes quality inconsistent here. We've had amazing experiences in years past but recent management is more hit and miss.

Dietary restrictions means we have to exclude certain ingredients, and we've had several instances of orders being incorrect. Even when business is relatively slow and we're basically the only people in the store. Simple things like "no bacon" or "no cheese" get missed frequently.

The sandwiches are good, lots of topping options. Drink dispenser is solid too. Post COVID, I miss the hot sauces being visible where you can add them or choose. Supposedly they still have them as options, but they even stopped putting up signs telling you what they had.

Overall, not the quality or consistency of years past. Especially at this location. It's not bad, but it's not consistent.
