This is going to be a long post so I hope this review reaches corporate and there is a discussion and resolution about handling problematic customers who complain and try to cause problems every time they come in for servers! I can't give our Village Inn in Southlands enough stars after what happened yesterday and can't give enough credit to Nour and the manager Joe. We have been coming here for the last few years since I moved in with my fiance and every single time, the experience is nothing short of great with our service which everyone has always been extremely kind and wonderful but my favorite server there is Nour and he always has been because he's friendly, always listens when I talk because I am a talkative customer and he engages and that is how it should be! That brings me to yesterdays incident because my mom and I came in to have a late breakfast and he was our waiter so I had asked him how he was and it lead into him telling me about something that had happened to him a few weeks ago so the people in the booth behind me thought they would listen to our conversation, leave him a bad review complaining about our conversation that had NOTHING to do with them, then leave him no tip. Our conversation had nothing to do with them, nor was it disruptive or inappropriate in any kind of way and we were paying customers just the same. These are the kind of people that make life hard for everyone of us trying to live and make money in an already hard and unforgiving world. Behavior like that from regular customers or anyone PERIOD should not be tolerated and they need to be "fired" and told to take their business elsewhere because it's not fair to the wonderful servers and managers there who get up and come to work, only to be constantly complained to about their meal and surroundings EVERY time they come in, STILL be treated with kindness, then have the nerve to leave no tip and leave a shady review in hopes to get someone in trouble. In my career field, if there are problematic people who act like this on a regular basis, they are kindly asked to take their business elsewhere because we all work too hard to be treated like crap by the same people every time they come in. I was extremely upset all day yesterday about this situation and called and spoke to the manager Joe last night and he was wonderful and the situation was handled. There is something to be said about this Village Inn because every time we go eat, I see the same servers and that tells me something about the management and how things are run there because people stay with an employer who is good to them. I love and respect that and this Village Inn will forever have mine and my family's business because I support businesses who are good to their employees. Thank you! -Kori ++I also forgot to mention that the food is always on point and I would love to know how you get the pancakes so perfect! Again--A big thank you from an extremely grateful...

AVOID this Village Inn!
How is this place still open?
Zero customer service, terrible manager, and unprofessional server.
Requested a pie to go and the server told they were out in the back. I could see two whole pies behind the glass at the register and asked if I could purchase one. The server said they were for display only. I asked why they have a pie in the window but wouldn't sell it. The server had an "I don't care" attitude, shrugged his shoulders, and couldn't explain why.
I asked to see the manager for an explanation and was told no. The server said he wouldn't answer any questions, waved me off with his hand, and ignored me.
Bottom line: I simply wanted to know if it was Village Inn's policy to not sell a pie in the front of the store if they were out of pies in the back.
Were the pies in front old?
Were the pies in front reserved?
If the pies are good and not reserved, why not sell them and simply replace the pies in the front when more are available?
Since Village Inn was out of pies in the back, what's the point of displaying the same pies in the front of the restaurant? It's confusing to be told the pie you want isn't available, but it's displayed right in the front behind the glass.
Unfortunately, the manager couldn't take the time to explain this, so they hid in the back and told the server at the register to ignore me and go onto the next customer while I was next in line. 😕
Outcome: Terrible customer service, weak leadership by the Village Inn manager, and completely unprofessional all around. It was even more surprising that this was during the holiday season. I can only imagine how unprofessional this place is throughout the rest of the year.
Pictures: RUDE employee (who may be the reason they were out of pies) and two pies on display but not for sale.
I posted a video of the person actually brushing me off with his hand (under "latest" photos), but Village Inn removed it from their website. They filter the videos and only show the cute little girl playing with her broccoli.
I will also post online elsewhere, highlighting Village Inn Southlands employee's lack of professionalism and customer service.
BTW, the actual food served, except for some of the pies, looks nothing like the stock pictures shown on their website.
I updated my review because the owner won't respond. Another example of poor leadership.
Owner responded and NOTHING changed....
Read moreThe service we got from Jacqueline was amazing!!! My issue is the manager Donna.
The village in the is by me is a different one and we had a problem with that manager so we decided to go to this one. Well to our surprise it's the same manager, Donna.
Me and my girlfriend are walking in and as we do Donna is starting at us with a glare. We walk into the restaurant and as we do Donna runs to the back. We wait for a few minutes and Donna yells from the back "Just 2?!?" and I said "No. 3" She than is just standing at the hosts table and finally says "I remember you.... How are you?" Donna says that vary sarcastic and snarky. I asked her "Will there be any problems?" Donna answers me with "As long as you pay your bill." Again vary snarky. I told her "Can you please just be a manager and not be a petty little girl?" Donna replies with "That's water under the bridge honey." while this is going on our server Jacqueline hears every word. We get sat and Donna leaves us alone. While we where sitting there Donna would be staring at us. Donna starts talking to a different server and points to us. Donna than goes and pulls out her phone and calls someone while looking at us. Donna than points the phone at us to make it look like she's taking pictures of us. As we are leaving Donna yells "Thanks for paying!!" while there are other guests in the lobby.
Other than Donna Jacqueline was an amazing server 5/5 with her service and the food!!
I hope I don't ever run into Donna again because this was the last straw. If we have a problem with her again we will not ever be going...
