La Reyna Azteca Tacos Y Tortas — Restaurant in Aurora

Had the breakfast burritos and enjoyed them so much we went back for dinner and the Birria tacos were sooo good. Now it's my go to place for Mexican food and I've tried the Gordita, menudo and mini tacos and loved them all. My wife also loved her Torta. Glad this place popped up down the street from my house. Things are made to order so if they are busy just sit back and relax while they prepare the food. Fransisco and his wife are such good people. Francisco always shows us love when we come in. Feels like family.

EDIT: I'm not sure what happened, but I never see Fransisco anymore. The new people never get my phone orders right. I think part of the problem is the language barrier for the person answering phones and taking orders. When I told them my order was wrong, they slapped ingredients inside and left the stuff I didn't want inside the torta instead of making a new sandwich containing ONLY the ingredients I want. I told them I wanted a full refund and they could keep the order...

I eat here at least once a month. The quality is out of this world.

I'm a creature habit, so once I find something I like I usually stick with. That said, I have tried many of their torta types and all were delicious.

A few months back they introduced the guacamole and chips and holy cow, it is so fresh and filling. This isn't your bulk-made grocery guac, this is the real deal. So tasty!

This place just fills my soul. When I drench the torta in hot sauce and take a bite, I am just so happy.

The price is good - not fancy and overinflated. You actually get more than what you pay for in quality.

If you want some authentic Mexican food, you have to try this place out.

Author's note: This place used to be a Chinese restaurant years and years ago. They had my most favorite dish in the world - some super spicy green curry that knocked my socks off. The soul of those high quality flavors of that foregone place now lives...

I will start with the positive- the churros are bomb and the birria is pretty good. We ordered about $50 worth of food at 3:30. We were one of two groups in the restaurant. We waited about twenty minutes and saw that the people who came in after us received their food first. Turns out it was our food. Rather than immediately putting our order back in they waited thirty minutes to even start replacing our food. It took an hour from when we walked in to when we finally received our food. There was no compensation given- in fact they kept telling us “don’t worry we won’t charge you again” ???? Why would we be charged because they gave our order to the wrong people and how do you mix up orders when there are only two groups ordering? Horrible customer service for sub- par tacos. But if you just want churros they are...
