I’m really not the type to leave bad reviews, but I and the other person that I ate with contracted food poisoning after eating at Wood Paddle Pizza and Tap. Both of us had not eaten anything else that day or anything after that night. We both woke up with food poisoning. From the moment we walked in, the entire atmosphere was off. The entire staff seemed very upset. When we ordered and received our pizza, it was entirely wrong. However, we were willing to eat it no problem and even told our waitress that when she offered to send it back. We never cause a fuss but she offered to remake the pizza for free. When she went to tell the cooks that we needed it remade, the cook was very hostile and upset. There was an argument about whether it was entered into the system wrong or made wrong and it was loud enough for my table to hear. We felt very bad for sending the pizza back already and causing a fuss which we expressed to the waitress, but we felt even worse when we saw the problems that it caused since we very rarely ever send food back or ask for something to be remade. When we received our remade pizza, it was still made wrong but we were more than willing to eat it since our order had already caused a problem and we didn’t want to anger anyone further. When we got home, we both went straight to bed, but woke up early in the morning with severe food poisoning. It was our first time eating here and while the food tasted good, it’s not worth getting severely sick or the hostile environment. We both really wanted to love...
Read moreAbsolutely Superb! My momma cooks Italian. I've worked as a cook in 5 Italian restaurants, 3 Italian family owned (including Momo's in Dallas), vacationed in Milano, ... an Italian food afficionado. Let your mind wander back to the Old Country, sun baked, tranquil rolling hills, fruit ripening on the vine. -Hand flown, ultra thin, perfectly blackened, crispy Nealopolitan crust. -Red sauce not too garlicy, Italian herbs coming forth rising into a well orchestrated crescendo. Sublime. -Home made soft Summer Sausage, well fenneled, ike you find in NYC or Chicago. -Hand pulled Mozzo, (that's a' Mozzarella). -Portobello Mushroons, de-gilled, oven-smoked upside down, filled with virgin olive oil and aged balsamic vinegar. -Orders taken by very enthusiastic, knowlegable staff. -Proudly baked to perfection by very well trained chef, n a genuine cracked tile wood fired oven. -Greeted tableside by a personable, handsome Italian Family restaurant owner, who passionately manages every details of the operation -Served by a charming, green eyed, blonde haired Beauty who's warm smile could make Sophia Loren blush with envy. -Topped off with a Ceasar salad, with a splash of lemon, and a dash of anchovy! Gourmet Family Italian, Friendly Atmosphere, at Family...
Read moreDisappointing. I dined here with my husband and adult daughter, and none of us are in a rush to go back. The food was rather bland and uninspiring. The pizza crust reminded me of a thin Boboli crust, and had very little flavor. The pepperoni had very little flavor or spice, and was not at all like the pepperoni on the pizza made by the former pizza place here. (I loved it when it had crispy edges). While we were there, the sun glared on the tilted Plexiglas menu board making it extremely hard to read, so my husband just ordered one of his favorites without really looking at the menu: sausage pizza. He expected to get a pizza with sauce, cheese and sausage, and instead also got BROCCOLI. After being in the pizza oven, the broccoli just tasted bitter and spoiled the other flavors. In general with our pizza: not enough sauce, not enough cheese. My daughter tried the mac and cheese, and thought Kraft tasted better. They've done some minor remodeling since the last occupants left the building, including moving the pizza oven out of the corner toward the kitchen, adding a half-wall to separate a dining area, and the paddles on the wall are a playful touch. The service was okay- nothing noteworthy. If you were a fan of A-Town's pizza, this is...
