We make a stop at the Aurora LaMar Donuts every Sunday after church. Donuts and variety are very good and generally Staff is cordial. Today not the case. Very busy and only 1 guy working. Didn't catch his name (tall, thin, dark hair in ponytail and tats) and appeared to be just going thru the motions with no link to customer. I'm understanding he was working on reducing "wait time" but a smile or pleasant comment adds to customer service. While still waiting our turn, in flies a 2nd employee (Scott) with a dumbfounded look seeing all the waiting people. My husband commented, "Backup is here" and that got a crusty look. I was next and he called me to the counter and since already knowing what I wanted from previous orders, I said, "4 maple raised and a long john" and do they have one filled with white fluff. He gruffly responded, "Wait a minute, I have to look first." I gave him a funny look and with an inflection in my voice, said "Okaaay" letting him know his comment was out-of-line. We then proceeded to checkout and husband said our telephone # is in the system and rattles it off. Scott sharply says, "Hold on, I have to log in 1st"! I joked about having read somewhere that men are not good at multi-tasking and that got a sneer. After punching in our telephone number, he stated it was not in the system, to which we said, it's been there for a couple of years, in fact got a free donut last time. He bluntly said, "You'll have to take that up with Corporate"!!! We're not sure if we should let 2 "Grumpy" staff be a deterrence in returning to LaMar donuts. I'll pray extra hard for them in church to work on a more pleasant Customer Service...
Read moreKinda funny how some of the responses to the reviews are older than the review itself. One of the reviews made 3 months ago has a response from the owner 9 months previous. Not very many people are aware that businesses like this have the capability to pay companies to remove bad reviews and write good reviews in there place. I know this company and many of the higher up corporate employees as well because i also worked here. And while they have somewhat of a decent product, or they did before they changed the oil in which the donuts are fried, the staff they keep at this and most other locations are inexperienced, unfriendly, unsanitary and unfit to hold most other jobs. they keep them because its cheap labor. And when i say unsanitary its an under statement. There was an employee/ donut maker at this location not too long ago with really bad personal hygiene and a weird skin condition that made his skin flake off and the company didnt make him wear the proper gear to prevent his condition from contaminating the donuts he made and they still served those donuts to the public. So while y'all are contemplating trying these donuts really think long and hard about who they might have now making those donuts. LaMars donuts only cares for their profits not what you are actually consuming nor their employees or whom they employ. And if you are unsure about my post, think about this, what do i have to gain from telling you this? Wont be suprised if my post is taken down shortly after. God forbid the...

New Review: May 26, 2020 I really love their donuts, but today I was disappointed, not because of the donuts, but by what I observed. The guy who serviced me was super courteous, a plus, but the take away was his lack of cleanliness, I guess we can call it. First, no gloves and second, the paper they use to grab the donuts were being wiped on the counter as he take your order, as he's waiting for you to collect your thoughts to pick out what you want, mind you, he's leaning all on the counter, jacket and all. So after you've picked out you order, he goes to grab your donuts, but realize his jacket sleeve has rolled down, so I guess without thinking, he then take the paper he's going to use to grab the donuts, to pull his jacket sleeve up. Hmmm Nowadays, we should be cautious about what we touch when serving food, I thought. Now, this is not to get him trouble, I don't think it's his fault. Lamar's obviously hired him because of is customer service, he represent that well. But, if you're gonna do that, maybe consider teaching them how to be aware on how to handle food, safely with cleainess, to make sure it doesn't get tainted and harm someone. Ok, ok did I say something to him about this? No, I just bought the donuts and left,...
