Walked into a for the most part not too busy restaurant. After our hostess sat us next to a high top table next to the door blowing supah cold air. After that we saw 4 different staff workers, all without an introduction or any welcome to the restaurant. Seems like they didn’t want to give name out for a reason. As a server myself, I understand how it can be tough at times when there’s many tables to take care of so I’m not completely put off. Later then did our server come by once and tell us she would be right with us. She was not right with us. When we got an introduction, it was from the bartender which was good. As an employee of the restaurant I love to see others stepping up to help the whole staff. Bartender took our food and drink orders quickly and got out our drinks very quickly. All props to him to be quite frank. Our food runner came, he was fine and quite polite. He let us switch tables although kind of reluctant but I am happier in a booth further away from the door. Once we got our food our server had finally come to check on us after the food runner and the bartender had fully tended to us. To not introduce herself or say anything but to ask us if we needed anything.. after watching the food runner bring us everything we needed. I ordered the new Cuban sandwich and it was one of the most disappointing things I could’ve got. I just get more and more disappointed every time I eat here. The plate was huge with a kids menu portion of food. The fries couldn’t even stack on top of each other. The plate was big enough to kick flip off of yet the food looked like a gnome cook it. Not to mention.. the kitchen staff of 4+ workers took forever to get out order out. I would’ve been fully satisfied if I microwaved a ham and cheese Hot Pocket. After I ate my meal with a frowny face, I basically was held here until the server wanted to acknowledge us and give us the bill. As she continued to talk to her coworker, We got the bill and I hopped on here immediately. The server was straight up allergic to serving us. I’m gonna get myself a glass of milk with ice and eat a PB&J next time. But hey, at the end of the...
Read moreI've been to Lazy Dog a few times. The drinks are great, the dog friendly patio is great. I went there on March 29th with my mom, my daughter and my dog. The waitress was super friendly and everything started out great. Then when she walked up to the table with our tray of drinks, she accidentally dumped the tray all over the front of me and all over the table. Everything is now covered in red wine, strawberry sprite drink and a blueberry lemon martini. She was very apologetic, it was an accident, I wasn't upset by that. We moved tables so that one could be cleaned. We then got new drinks, and food started to come out. It was then the waitress offered a free dessert. That's it, a free dessert, when we were never going to order dessert at all. I'm still soaking wet, my clothes are stained with red wine and I'm offered a free dessert and nothing else. I told her no thank you, we don't want dessert. Then it starts raining, right on us, I'm already wet and cold, I don't want to move tables again so we decided to box up the rest of our meals and go. Waitress brings the check out and claims she took the $5 dog meal and the $6 appetizer off, but never shows us an itemized bill. Not once this entire time has a manager come out to talk to us about the incident, or to offer anything. We did the math on the bill, it was a $97 bill......nothing was removed. Not even what she claimed. We get home and call the manager, who never acknowledged even knowing of what happened (the waitress claimed the manager knew, so a good manager would have come right to us). In the end the manager over the phone claimed we would not be charged for the bill and I would be sent a gift card to make up for the clothes. Another lie. I'll find somewhere else to give my money to when I want to eat out. The staff at this location doesn't care about it's patrons at all. This entire situation should have been handled so much better by management after it happened. Being offered a free dessert and still being charged is a sign of very poor management and a slap in the face. Accidents happen, but everything that transpired after...
Read moreUpdate: After the manager reached out to me and nicely offered to mail me a gift card to try to make my experience better, I responded promptly and gave my mailing address. I have waited two months to update, but the gift card never arrived so the review response/email feels performative and brought my opinion of this restaurant even lower due to my wasted energy and expectations.
Another update: It's been 7months now and I have yet to hear from the establishment, even after posting my update two months after reviewing. Such a disappointment in business practices.
A friend and I stopped here a few minutes after opening on a Friday. I was surprised that quite a few tables were already filled. We got a small table for two (I note this because the waitress even remarked on that fact as she took some of the items off the table and set them on the booth next to me to make room).
I was really excited to try a new beer because in the entryway they tout their beer club. I was really disappointed when I saw the menu, however. It had no dark beers (stouts or porters are my favorites) except Guinness. They had a lot of other types but neglected those of us who enjoy a dark beer - I mean Guinness is fine, don’t get me wrong but I expected more than one option.
The food we ordered was just okay. The complimentary Parmesan waffle chips were hard to eat as most of them were the same size as the very small broken chip pieces that you find at the bottom of a bag of chips when you’re almost done. My walnut chicken salad sandwich was amazing! But my chicken tortilla soup was quite watery, although the Parmesan crisp that came on the side really elevated it. I enjoyed it so much I asked for a couple more crisps, but though the waitress said she would bring it, she never did.
My friend got a chicken sandwich, I forget which type, and she only ate about half of it because the texture was just a little off for her. Overall, though we both liked the...
