What an absolutely amazing experience. Every table was occupied when we entered and I was expecting the worst. The very friendly gentleman that took our order explained the protocol during the odd time that every seat is taken (delaying cooking the food) and me, my wife and four kids waited just a few minutes for a table to open, at which point the same gentleman that took our order brought out chairs so the kids could sit and then asked another table if we could borrow their extra chairs for me and my wife. The garlic bread came very quickly and it was incredible. This seems to be the only place to so accurately execute the correct ratio of cheese, garlic, bread and spices. Legitimately, the best garlic bread I've ever tasted. Get at least two orders. The Brooklyn pizza arrived just after we finished the garlic bread. I had watched Angel (I apologize if I got the name wrong, I assumed from the hat) stretch the dough. As an avid cook and frequent pizza consumer, this dough is impossible. To make it thin, crispy, not "dried out," the perfect amount of air while allowing it enough gluten to stretch the way it did, I'm in awe. The sauce couldn't have been more perfectly balanced. Some restaurants add sugar to bottled sauce to reduce the acidity of the tomato. To contrast, I'm guessing Mondo's uses San Marzanos on a low boil to achieve what was without a doubt the best sauce I've had in years. The crust was perfect. Not overly crispy, not greasy. It folded and lightly cracked. The fresh herbs and spices were an amazing complement. I can't say enough good things about this pizza. The Chicken Alfredo pasta was delicious. The creaminess of the sauce was surprising. I had only a few bites. The calzone was without a doubt the best I've ever had. The balance of the sauce, herbs and spices and ricotta scratched the exact itch I had. The entire calzone had the exact same golden crust. Perfection. Prior to our visit, I had read one review which called Mondo's overpriced but good. Had I known the quality of the food, I would have paid double. I understand people may have differing opinions but this was hands down the best Pizzeria experience I've ever had. These are truly masters...
Read moreMondo’s Pizza instantly transports you to the heart of New York City the moment you step inside. The vibrant, no-nonsense pizzeria vibe hits all the right notes, with an atmosphere that feels like it was plucked straight from a bustling NYC street corner. I ordered a slice and a calzone, and let me tell you, they delivered big time. The slice was everything you’d expect from a classic New York-style pizza—massive, foldable, and served piping hot within minutes. The crust had that perfect balance of crispy and chewy, with just the right amount of sauce and cheese to make every bite a delight. It was so authentic, I could’ve sworn I was in the Bronx. The calzone, made fresh right in front of me, was a showstopper. It came out golden, steaming, and impressively large, packed with gooey cheese and flavorful fillings. The wait wasn’t long at all, and watching it being crafted added to the experience. Both the slice and calzone were so generously portioned that finishing them in one sitting was a challenge I couldn’t conquer—but trust me, it wasn’t for lack of trying. Every bite was delicious, with bold flavors that left me wanting to come back for more. The restaurant itself was spotless, which is always a plus, and the staff were warm, welcoming, and quick to make you feel at home. Whether you’re craving a quick slice, a whole pie, a calzone, or any of their other offerings, Mondo’s is a fantastic choice. It’s clear they’ve nailed the art of pizza-making while creating an inviting space to enjoy it. I’ll definitely be back for another taste of NYC when I’m...
Read moreWell, I knew it was too good to be true. Customer service was terrible today. Went inside and placed an order to go and was specifically told they would tell me when my order was ready. The only problem is, they don't have a system in place to let people know their to go orders are ready so they were NEVER going to tell me when my order was ready. My pizza was sitting on top of the oven the whole time I was sitting and waiting endless watching customers come and go. It wasn't until I saw the ones who ordered way after me get their order that I stood up to ask what was taking so long.
This is where the terrible customer service came in. I asked the same guy I ordered from where my pizza was and he had no idea why or what I was waiting on like I was just sitting there inside the whole time for no reason. The guy didn't care at all that he forgot about me. The employees have no sense of awareness, every single employee saw me sitting there this whole time but had not initiative to check to see why I was there for so long.
I guess my one star review is in comparison to Dion's customer service where if they see you sitting there for 2 minutes they keep checking on you every 2 minutes to make sure everything is OK. This is just my fault for being too lazy to drive the extra 15 minutes to Dion's where I've never had a problem ordering and...
