3rd visit here. Wanted to treat my Husband because I experienced good food and a nice atmosphere in the past. Ordered Guacamole, unlike the previous visits, it was served on a saucer that looked like it was 2 table spoons. I didn't understand but thought, maybe there was a change in service. While that saucer (flat small plate) with 2 table spoons of Guacamole was on the table, a waitress came by with a small bowl of Guacamole which is what I was use to seeing and added that to my table. I could have just accepted the bowl and the saucer, yet I asked her for clarity. "Why did I receive both?" She rolled her eyes, muttered rudely, and aggressively forced the correct serving of Guacamole on the table, then walked away. I asked to speak to a Manager, a Guy came out and first explained to me "We serve it like this." I told him I'd been there twice before and never received Guacamole served like that. Then and only then (after I stated the fact) he acknowledge the kitchen made a mistake. I said I understood but, the mistake should have been acknowledged by him and the waitress first. He, just like she, tried to reverse the Blame to me. Never acknowledged the kitchen error. He greeted my concern with the waitress (offender) present. She argued with me. He defended her. My Husband and I asked for the bill. It was $3.23 for the Guacamole. We paid the bill and decided to leave. When I got to the door. The Waitress confronted me again, the Manger defended her. I typically like the atmosphere and the food of this place. However, I was appalled: a mistake they made, and a poor attitude of a waitress who's Manager thought the right thing to do was simply defended the Waitresses' answer and justify the Kitchen's error was OK. My Husband and I paid the $3.23 bill for the Guac. as we left they mocked us as we were BLACK minorities, and to them weren't worth the acknowledgement. The Waitress confronted me at the door, the Owner reluctantly came and defended her as if to say "We don't need...

We’ve been on the hunt for a good Mexican restaurant since moving here from San Diego, and we gave Real De Minas a shot with takeout. Unfortunately, after multiple tries, we’ve decided we won’t be going back.

First Visit: The food was great—enough to justify the 40-minute round trip from Parker. It gave us hope that this could be our go-to spot.

Second Visit: Things started to go downhill. They messed up the drinks; we ordered a margarita on the rocks, and it came blended. One of the dishes was also sitting in a pool of grease—not appetizing.

Third (and final) Visit: This was the breaking point. When I went in to place a takeout order, the front area was dirty—used paper towels were on the chairs and floor, with a roll of paper towels and window cleaner sitting out in plain view (picture attached). The front-of-house staff was unprofessional, chatting amongst themselves without even greeting me. The hostess who helped me clearly had no training—she didn’t know the menu, couldn’t answer questions about the dishes, and didn’t know how to enter the order correctly.

The food took 10 minutes longer than promised, and when I got home (in a snowstorm), I realized they forgot the chicken quesadilla. I had to drive all the way back to order it because it wasn’t added to my original order. The staff showed no sympathy or sense of urgency when addressing the mistake.

To top it off, place is not cheap. The portions are quite small for extras like chips and salsa or guacamole—you’ll barely get more than a ramekin-sized serving. Also, make sure to ask for an itemized receipt. They only provide a total unless you specifically request it, which caused unnecessary hassle during one of our visits.

We’ve since found a better alternative in Castle Rock called La Loma. The quality and service are much closer to what we’ve been looking for.

If you’re considering Real De Minas, I’d advise you to proceed with caution—or better yet, skip...

My kids took me out for an early Mother’s Day. We have been here in the past and enjoyed the restaurant. My kids ordered the fajitas for 2 with half steak, half chicken and I ordered a taco salad with ground beef wit the guacamole on the side. Our food came out very quickly to our surprise because they were pretty busy. My kids’ fajitas was steak only which they were still ok with. My taco salad looked amazing. The salad was almost to the top of the shell but the only downside was that the guacamole was not on the side like I had asked. I did spoon it off onto another plate though. I broke part of the taco salad shell and discovered that the meat on my taco salad was chicken. We waited for 23 minutes (we timed it) trying to get our servers attention. I let her know that I had ordered a taco salad with ground beef and the taco salad she brought had chicken. She replied to me, “I know” and took the plate to the back. She came back 5 minutes later with a tiny taco salad. It did not look anything like the first one and instantly regretted I did not take a picture of the first one. I did take pictures of the tiny taco salad she did bring out. At that point, I was so sad and disappointed that I just wanted to leave. This was no where near the value of $13 for this taco salad. The rest of our visit, our server Jessica would not acknowledge me and only talked to my kids. I was never impolite to her which is why I do not understand why she was treating me like this. I truly just wanted to cry but did not want to upset my kids who really wanted to take me out for Mother’s Day. Even when I asked for a box and told her thank you, she only acknowledged my daughter. The only reason why I gave 2 stars and not 1 is because my kids’s fajitas were really...

Real De Minas Mexican Grill offers really good food that’s more authentic than other Mexican restaurants. The food is well seasoned and prepared, and the menu provides tons of options to pick from. We ordered the Shrimp Trio platter, Green Chili Chicken Enchiladas, and Chile Rellenos - it was all really good and delicious. Being hispanic though (and maybe it’s because different countries prepare food differently) I did notice that the fried Chile Rellenos were made a bit weird; they were wrapped in a tortilla and then deep fried, almost like a deep fried enchilada. Usually Chile Rellenos are wrapped in egg batter and then deep fried; but, maybe it’s different in Mexico - either way, they still seemed good. What I have found with many Mexican restaurants is that their main course might be good; but, they don’t take the time to season the rice, beans, and other sides like salsas (or they use salsas from a can); with Real De Minas, the rice and beans were super good and not bland. I did not ask about the salsas; but, they were really good also and seemed to be freshly made. The guacamole was also awesome!! Our waitress was also really nice and awesome. If you’re in the mood for Mexican food, and have some time to wait fro fresh food to be cooked, definitely give Real De Minas a try.

The atmosphere is cool, lots of carved wood seating, bright colorful blankets, big paintings and pots--the trappings of a old western style Mexican restaurant. The margaritas are huge and the "skinny" version is delicous. On Wednesdays you get one free kid meal per paid adult which is a huge plus. It is very family friendly and no one bats an eye as kids are loud, messy, and acting like kids. Real de Minas III also can get very crowded and the tables are a bit close together. Not a place to dine in privacy. I've been for dinners and lunch. The food is of consistent quality and spicy dishes are spicy (not anemic). I've never thought "wow, best Mexican food ever" but I have thought "that was good, flavorful." Last time I was there for lunch and had a delicous, generous bowl of traditional Tortilla Soup. No sour cream to be seen and a very good broth but the vegetables and meat were in huge chunks. A good problem to have but it was weird to cut soup! I think the chips are supposed to be refilled while you wait but this often doesn't happen because the (very polite) wait staff gets quite busy. I do reccommend this place for groups, families, friends for having a casual lunch or dinner.
