This is actually another review similar to one written four months ago by another user, Anahi. We had the similar altercation with the same female cashier. My younger sister is starting college this fall and she has been trying to find some new planners for the semester. I constantly tell her to go to Homegoods because they truly have the best notebooks! She does work through some social anxiety and one of the ways we try to be active about growing is encouraging her to check out on her own. Unfortunately while checking out, she had a pretty upsetting interaction with one of the cashiers. While inquiring about her purchase, the Cashier offered a credit card with the store, and confused, she was unsure and asked to not continue with the credit account. Unfortunately the cashier was visibly upset, perhaps confused as to why she didn't say no to begin with, understandably. However, it was once we were walking away and wished her a good day and vice versa, where she threw the bag on the counter and mumbled under her breathe. I will note, we were not able to catch what she had said, but it truly did feel like a jab at my younger sister. I understand, working in spaces where customer service is demanded is an incredibly taxing job, and with respect to the emotional capacity workers hold, it could have just been a bad day. However, it does break my heart to know she left this store feeling less valued and embarrassed for simply being a customer. I love this place, wholeheartedly, I grew up coming to this location, and I would love to give this place a second try so long as we are kind in the spaces...
ย ย ย Read moreIf i could give zero star, I would! First time at home goods and my experience was unfortunate. Cashier Jenna saw my daughters and I standing in line to be checked out. Her light was on yet she kept pulling coke bottles on the counter. Once another customer was behind us she called us over. As she checked us out she asked if we needed a bag which we did. She asked if she needed to wrap the glass and I kindly said yes please. She began to stuff the plastic bag with all of my items I purchased. As I picked up the bag it was heavy and asked if she could give us another one. She replied โI guessโ. She stared at my daughter, turned around and began to chat with a colleague. I did not observe anyone else being treated this way. Jenna needs training around basic customer service and how to put her biases aside when serving the public. We will not be returning back...
ย ย ย Read moreI love HomeGoods, of course, but I especially love this specific location! The staff is just so wonderful, and I feel awful because back in the beginning of the year, I was helped and given SUCH great customer service one late, snowy night, and though I promised Glen (the store manager present) and Susan (the clerk helping me/checking me out) I would do a survey for them, my chronic illness took a turn for the worst and every single task got forgotten for a while. It's too late to do the survey now, so let me say here just how appreciative I was to the both of them that night, when I bought half the store and they were so patient with me at near-closing time! That was one of the only big shopping trips my health has allowed me to make in almost an entire year, and them, their patience, and their kindness meant more than words can express. Thanks again,...
