Rosenberg's is a great breakfast / brunch or lunch spot located at Stanley Marketplace. If you're looking for an authentic New York style Jewish delicatessen, then you've come to the right place!
I've been hearing the buzz around Rosenberg's for quite some time, but to my mistake alone I went to a few other restaurants during prior visits to Stanley Marketplace. However, I'm very happy that I finally made my way to their restaurant to give their sought after food a try. I was initially disappointed when my first choice off the menu (Wings of Pastrami) was unavailable at noon on a Sunday. The kind employee behind the counter recommended I go for the Meat, Egg, & Cheese build your own breakfast sandwich option, as this would get me pretty close to the Wings of Pastrami. As far as I could tell the only missing component of my meal that is on the Wings of Pastrami was the three cheese blend. Mild disappointment aside, I absolutely loved my meal! The pastrami was incredibly tender and juicy. The scrambled eggs were the perfect airy cloud to balance out the stacks of pastrami. The everything bagel is always a must in my eyes, and Rosenberg's certainly did not disappoint in that area.
My fiancee got the High Class fish sandwich on a bagel. At first glance we could both understand why this sandwich carries the name "High Class". It was obvious when you see the caviar loaded cream cheese smeared all over the bagel and lox. We both felt that the tomato was too overpowering and that the lox themselves did not seem as fresh as we are accustomed to when enjoying such a Jewish delicatessen staple. It's because of this less than stellar sandwich and the above mentioned disappointment related to the Wings of Pastrami that this great spot earned 4 stars instead of 5. All in all, this is a good spot to swing through and grab food at while visiting Stanley Marketplace. I feel comfortable recommending this place, and hope next time around could be more of a 5 star experience.
As a quick tip, make sure to get an order of the bagel chips to snack on or take to-go for a crunchy treat at another...
Read moreRosenberg's has been our go to spot for almost a year now for our Saturday morning breakfast. I have never had a bad experience here until today 12/30/17. Now, my gripe is not with the food, I believe that it is superb, however this occasion the service was very sub par. I order the same sandwich (The Heart Attack on sesame bagel) every time I come. This time when the sandwich came it was on an everything bagel...no big deal, so I brought my sandwich to the pick up counter to mention this to an employee by the name of Ryan so he could correct this minor issue.
This is where Rosenberg's, but in particular Ryan dropped the customer care ball. He asked for my table number and then said this exact statement..."well that is what you ordered, but I'll make you a new one"...his demeanor was as if I asked him to smother a puppy!! I Said to Ryan..."if I had ordered this wouldn't I have eaten it, instead of brining it back to you?". Clearly I had upset him by mentioning that my order was incorrect. This is not the attitude that I typically receive at Rosenberg's, and I see this guy slicing fish and doing expo every Saturday, he has always been nice, but today I guess someone ruined his day. Either way, I felt as if I had done something wrong, and a customer should never feel that way.
I am kind of up in the air on going back to this Rosenberg's due to this interaction, I might make the trip to 5 points instead where I have always had a great experience. I know that I am small fish in the sea of people that go to this location, but I feel that this warranted some sort...
Read moreOut of towner and went to Stanley Marketplace for a walk and lunch. With my daughter we went to Rosenberg’s - I enjoy deli food. My daughter asked for a Roasted chicken salad without any bread. The photos show what we got, 2-3 scoops of chicken salad, two slices of tomato, two pieces of lettuce and a pickle and chips. Normal price $11 - with tax $13.69. Almost $14 for THIS!!!?? I brought it back and demanded a refund! In my thinking the business had two options when no bagel was requested: 1) Increase the amount of chicken salad to make up for the lack of bagel but give a fair amount in trade; 2) since no bagel was desired - reduce the price. No, they chose option 3 - charge the same price for less food. If a customer is saving you money by asking for less, wouldn’t it be fair to pass that saving onto the customer? Or… give them more of the food they want in fair trade? The manager was nice enough to not debate and quickly refund my money. But what a joke of a frustrating situation. If I lived here I would never return. In the end my daughter went to a different restaurant and got a huge serving of steak and cheese nachos for just $2 more ($15) and got enough for dinner leftovers. So all’s well that ends well I suppose. Small note: I couldn’t understand why it took almost 15 minutes for them to prepare this box of nothing and my own sandwich with bagel. It was essentially just one sandwich - 15 minutes?? As for my sandwich - it was good, no complaints - guess you have to get bagel to get your...
