Been going to this restaurant for 7 years. It has always been OK. Not outstanding but nothing really wrong. Average service, average food and average price. There were definitely better Korean restaurants, however they are all out of business.
About two months ago, I went there and decided to try something from their Sushi bar. My husband and I ordered Salmon Salad. As you can see from the picture, they put some really nasty looking avocado in the salad. So I called the waitress and she took it to the chef.
She came back in about 3 minutes, with the same plate and told us:"Chef said its fine, it is not bad, and he ate a piece in front of me, you should eat a piece too. It doesn't taste bad" I was shocked. I used to work in restaurants and run the kitchen. No chef will eat food from customers plate and then return it to the customers. I am not even going to talk about how you shouldn't serve black avocado and tell your customers to eat it. I grabbed that girl back and told her she did not do anything wrong, but the answer is not acceptable. I need to talk to their manager. She said the sushi chef is the manager. If I am not happy, they can give me 20% off on the salmon salad. I told her to leave, and I will pay for the full amount. There were 4 Japanese ladies sitting next to our table, and they said it is shocking that in sushi, you see such bad ingredients. I found out that they took the salad off my check. When I told the front desk lady about what happened, she said the sushi chef is not the manager. And I told her to make sure that she needs to tell the owner, she didn't really care. Two pictures, one is before the plate was sent to the chef, one is after it was returned to me. I still gave them 2 stars because this is the first time something this bad happened over the past 7 years. However, I will not go back there again. If this is how they are going to run the restaurant from now on, I don't recommend anyone to go back and be told to eat...
Read moreI absolutely love hot pot and there is something about this place that makes me go back everytime and it is exactly what you see in the picture. The resturant building is split into two different areas, the left side is for hot pot and the right side is for traditional Korean barbecue. Today I will be talking about the hot pot. There are many different soups to choose from and i would recommend the bone broth, miso, or any spicy broth. They are savory and delicious. Next there is a middle area that has all the food that you can add into your soup whether it is instant ramen, muscles, veggies, mushrooms, you name it pal, it also has a sauce making section with fried dried garlic and onions, which are delicious to add to your sauce for a crunchy texture. I personally love adding muscle to my broth and i go back multiple times for it. Now for the good part, the meat that you can choose from are diverse and they are all cut thin so that you can cook it on top of your broth with ease. Now for all the beef remember that it can be eaten rare to medium rare. Often times people are mistaken to put all of their meat into the broth but that takes away from the texture and flavor that you could get from cooking it properly. Take one slice at a time with your chopsticks and glue the flat side of the meat on top of the broth and do a sort of flip flop method until its cooked at your preferred doneness. Dont be afraid if its a little red, thats when it is tender and delicious. Now for my favorite meat selection, and what I think is the best, is their beef short rib. Now this is a PREMIUM grade beef and because it is short rib it is densely marbled. Now you could almost mistaken it for a wagyu because of how much marbling it has. I have pictured the beef short rib below to show you exactly what I am speaking of. And did I mention it's all you can...
