Aviator Pizza & Drafthouse — Restaurant in Austin

Good spot to pop in for some delicious pizza. I had the fully loaded (they don't skimp on toppings) personal 9" pizza called Ground Control it was delicious but my pizza could have used just a touch more sauce as it was a bit dry despite the much appreciated toppings ratio. My daughter had the 4 cheese personal and she loved it and nearly ate it all except for 2 pieces. We both split a Caesar salad with our meal and a fountain drink. It was good pizza. The dough was very light and airy mouth feel with a slight sweetness to the dough and yet had a crisp bottom and held up to the loaded toppings. This is hard to do. So bravo. Great price for the personal pizzas and lots of variety.

My only issue is that the restroom was pretty dirty and none of the toilets flushed well. I literally had to remove the tank lid to make sure the basin would fill so I could flush . As every stall was filled by a previous person's visit and I'm just not that person and leave places better TMI I know but otherwise it would have been a lot of paper stacked in those bowls because they didn't flush. So this the otherwise one less star.

Well my family and I went there for our first time and outside of the “HOWDY from Austin” on the wall, the welcome was not there. The girls at the register were in there conversation and phones and less interested in us coming through the door. Almost as if being black in the wrong place. We looked on the menu and Ordered and sat down on our own and got no attention from anyone. The only person who spoke was the person who brought out the pizza. Thank God the pizza was great, because the atmosphere and the people in it left a bad taste in me and my family’s mouth. My kids asked why it seemed like nobody wanted to serve or speak to us and I couldn’t give a definitive answer. Very very poor customer service. I’m a restaurant owner so I know how you’re supposed to greet everyone. A few minutes after we sat down out the way there were 2 groups of white customers 2 white males came in and were greeted with smiles and eye gazing cause one of the girls told the other girl “he’s hot” so she spoke and wouldn’t stop speaking to the guy and even walked him to his seat. We ordered a cheese pizza for the kids and a margarita for my husband and I. The cheese pizza was better, more flavorful and a better crust. The margarita was tasteless. The crust on both was okay. Nothing special about it. Would have liked a crispier crust. There are cheaper and better pizza places than this. They have a wall of beer taps. You are allowed to sample before purchase. They do not make their own beer. They have a descent selection of local brews though. When asked about parking they gave me a QR code to scan at the garage. They did not state how long the validation was for. I should have grabbed a stack of them as it turned out. Like all of the other business we just assumed our parking would be for at least 2 hours and 100% covered. We ended up still having to pay $5 in parking fees after not quite 2 hours.
