Read moreI recently went to Barley's for the first (and only) time. I had high hopes for this restaurant because in the small(ish) town I am from the family restaurants have a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I was a waitress for many years at several different restaurants, so I know what I am talking about. It looked like there were several "regulars" there and they may have a different viewpoint, but I was not impressed.
Ok, here we go: Pros: Had flavored creamer for coffee, service was fast, food came out quickly. Cons: Food: I asked for my eggs "not runny", and they came out runny. I also bit into several pieces of egg shell... Food server: She was busy (and they were probably understaffed), but she also was not welcoming, never asked how everything was, actually yelled at a regular, and balked when I asked her to break a $10 bill (so I could give her a tip)... Read moreFOOD was GREAT! SERVICE WAS NOT! VERY rude... waitress started out seemingly mad that we were there right when they opened and went downhill from there! Asked her to bring drink with meal and instead of saying "ok but if I forget, remind me" , she said "NO I bring it right away"!!! When we ordered, she went to kitchen and made several rude comments about us which we could hear, when she brought our food, I would have been wearing my oatmeal if I didn't catch it when she shoved it across the table in a hurry to walk away without any apology or "Can I get you anything else" or "Enjoy your meal"... I have NEVER had such rude service... if it weren't for the fact that I used to waitress and respect that is how she's making a living, I would not have left a tip... but she did show up for work so... I will NOT return... last thing I want is to start my day off with a...
