I have known about Brown's Bar-B-Que for a long time now. I just have not had a chance to come by the trailer. It used to be by a car wash, but it is now located next to Corner Bar. I guess I was a little apprehensive in going to a trailer at a car wash to get barbecue.

I went with the three-meat plate today with the usual moist brisket, pork ribs, and sausage with cabbage and macaroni and cheese as sides. The brisket was super solid. It was moist and tender. The fat on it was luscious, and it had a nice meaty flavor. I do prefer a smokier brisket with a dark peppery bark, but I am not going to kick this brisket out of bed. The pork ribs stole the show. The rub/glaze was sweet and peppery. Just the way I like it. The ribs were meaty, tender, and juicy. The sausage was a commercial blend from Texas Sausage Company. Nothing noteworthy. The sides were excellent. The cabbage sounded healthy, but it was far from it. The bits of bacon did not help. The macaroni and cheese also had bacon in it. Not original pictured are the smoked chicken and peach cobbler. I ate some of the chicken from Mike's plate. It was really moist, but you can still taste some smoke from the post oak. It was the perfect balance. I can see why people rave about the chicken. I am not a sweets type of guy, but the peach cobbler was pretty tasty.

I love the smells of a car wash. I am not sure why I have not gone by Brown's sooner when it was still there. Their prices are very affordable as well. The sausage they had today was not their usual custom blend. I did not get to try the pulled pork on this visit, but I will make that happen next time l go. On Sundays, they give away free barbecue if you order stuff from the bar at Corner. Free barbecue and...

Update, 8 years later and a new and better location up the street , the chicken is still absolutely outstanding and perhaps the best takeout chicken in Austin. Beef ribs and brisket are also stand out and the service can’t be beat. Outdoor and indoor seating available and parking is usually plentiful.

So i ended up at genies to get my whip #CLEANED (ended up spending a fortune but thats another story for another review), and while waiting I noticed the truck and felt the hunger. The homies cleaning cars all said the food was dope so i took a stab. It was mid-day so I figured a bit of chicken wouldnt kill me, and while in line the lady in front of me (who was very, very texan) told me that browns was the best bbq in the city (she claimed it was better then countyline/saltlick) Anyways those were big words (even though i hadnt been to either restaurants yet) and i decided to keep it light and got the chicken.

Hands down this wasnt just the best piece of chicken ive ever had in my life, it was one of the better pieces of meat i had in my life (because honestly, who the hell ever raves about chicken). The skin was perfectly crispy and delicious, the meat so tender you wanted nothing more then grab it with your fingers, put it in your mouth, chew, then wipe your fingers clean with your lips. it was that good

They have moved from genies over to corner bar, but damn the chicken is so...

Well, what can I say. For me, the disappointment after Terry black (. Brisket meat is delicious, and even I would say tastier than in the same Terry, much juicier and less salty. That is, I would even give the brisket an A! As for sausages: sausages are worse, both in terms of the quality of the product itself and in taste, respectively. Sharp and generally tasteless, except for this very sharpness. The biggest upset happened after I saw the potato salad (it was not a salad in the usual sense of the word, but rather sour mashed potatoes without sauce at all, ground, similar to mashed potatoes from sour potatoes). colslow salad well, it wasn't colslow at all - it was more like a vitamin salad consisting of cabbage lightly sprinkled with vinegar, because of which the cabbage was all in its own juice (that is, half in a waste liquid - neither aesthetics nor taste here is no junk ((. In general, this is completely unsatisfactory. There was no mayonnaise, for example, to add to taste yourself, there were no tomato sauces. I asked for mustard - it was served in a small bowl. Judging by the receipt - to be honest, it's not worth it. I was upset by this visit because it was completely different in my mind. There was absolutely no atmosphere and mood of the barbecue van, there was no feeling that you were comfortable and well. I don't recommend in...

The many times that I have been in the area, I have never noticed Brown's BBQ but now they definitely have my attention. My lite afternoon snack was the 3-meat plate, Moist Beef Brisket, Pork Rib, and Sausage with sides of Cabbage and Green Beans. The brisket had a beautiful smoke ring and the bark was perfect. The pork rib had a nice rub where no barbecue sauce was needed. Last but not least, the sausage casing had a nice snap to it and the filling was coarse, the way I like it. The braised cabbage was well seasoned to my satisfaction. Although Brown's BBQ shares the same address with the Corner Bar, they are separate businesses however, if one orders to eat-in, the delectable delights can be savored outside at the picnic tables or inside of the Corner Bar where beverages with authority are served, for digestive purposes. Without a doubt, I definitely will be back 😋
