My Fiance and I went here a few weeks ago and the experience was... ok. The server was very nice, although seemed to be more about having friendly conversation than paying attention to what we ordered since right away she brought the wrong drinks. I didn't mind so much until she needed us to remind her of what we ordered. So service is -1 star. The food is reasonably priced, and I really love that they have the 'lighter' menu so you could order smaller portions.I ordered the General Tso's Chicken and we split an order of their cream cheese puffs. I liked how much cream cheese they had in the puffs, but they loaded it with way too much garlic! That says a lot since I happen to be a lover for garlic, but it was all I could taste. I'm hoping it was just a fluke and they added too much when preparing for service, because they would have been to die for otherwise. Whenever I order cream cheese wontons/rangoons they always skimp on the actual cheese part. These were loaded! When our entrees came out the General Tso's chicken was ok. They used a lot of dark meat and they were heavily battered and fried. The sauce was pretty good at least, but near the end of the meal the oils from the chili peppers were coating my mouth and ended up being too much for me. I will be going back since it just seemed like the chef was excessive with the seasoning, but that is the other reason why I had to remove another star from my rating. It is never good to have bland food, but you can do just as much damage if you...
Read moreI’ve been coming to this restaurant for 25+ years; I’ll be turning 30 soon, so basically my entire life. I’m an extremely picky person and coincidentally have worked at Asian restaurants since I was 16, so I really can’t say enough good things about this place. In my personal case, my food order has never been wrong or missing any items. It doesn’t bother me that it’s to go only because I prefer eating at home. I think prices are great compared to similar type restaurants. I have very fond memories of eating here with my grandparents and my dad back when they had a fish tank inside. I do miss the paper chicken appetizer though.😭 Overall, I would recommend this restaurant over other similar places in the area; in fact, I don’t even live in the Austin city limits anymore, but still go out of my way to come...
Read moreFood portions are lacking and so is the flavor. Eggrolls are good. Egg drop soup is good but could do without the miscellaneous veggies in it. Fried rice that should have veggies in it had none at all, so it was just white rice with soy sauce, pretty pointless, might as well just got steamed rice. Sweet and sour sauce is disturbingly red, I have never in my life seen such a red sauce. It had no flavor at all and was like eating food color jelly. Both meals had lacking portions of meat. One combo had more sauce than it did chicken, sauce which didnt providedmuch flavor or spice. The other had hidden pile of miscellaneous veggies under chicken giving the illusion you had good amount of meat when you didn't. Overall foods okai and fresh. Lack of flavor made food short of satisfactory and didn't hit...
