Dumpling King: A Royal Disappointment Dumpling King promised a feast of flavorful dumplings, but instead delivered a culinary catastrophe. The ambiance resembled a brightly lit fast-food joint rather than a place to savor delicate cuisine. While our water glasses remained consistently full (it was self administered from a jug), the same attention was sorely lacking in the kitchen. Our meal began with two soups. The lamb soup, while possessing a decent broth, contained a meager amount of lamb – a few slivers swimming in a vast, watery expanse. The hot and sour soup was a truly bizarre experience, possessing a strange, unidentifiable flavor profile unlike any other I’ve encountered. It was bad.
Hopes weren't lifted by the main courses. The chicken and mushroom soup dumpling, a dish we eagerly anticipated, was a complete misnomer. It arrived sans soup, a dry, doughy pouch with a vaguely chicken-mushroom flavored filling in a dry internal conglomerated sphere (blob) without texture. The real low point, however, was the fried salt and pepper shrimp. Greasy, overcooked, and utterly flavorless, the shrimp were a tragic example of culinary malpractice that left behind a bland, oily residue. It’s like the fryer was at a low temperature and the shrimp were left in the grease way too long. The promised salt and pepper were nowhere to be found. The accompanying jalapeños were sliced in a variety of widths, an inconsistency that, while minor, added to the overall sense of haphazardness. Even the condiments failed to impress. The chili oil on the table reeked of burnt spices, a clear indication of inattentive cooking.
Dumpling King reigns supreme only in disappointment. With its lackluster food, fast-food décor, and questionable condiments, it’s a dining experience best avoided. While the full water was delivered in a carafe which was to be appreciated, they couldn’t compensate for the truly dismal meal. This king needs to...

先付钱两小时吃. You pay for your food first. Let that sink in. Come support defensive and rude owners. Just read the reply. See how they handle it. Denial and attacking the customer. Customer is always wrong.
Before they had constant bad reviews before they submitted a new Google page. My previous review and everyone else's removed after resetting their google account. Nice one. Waited 2 hours for 2 plates of dumplings and a cold appetizer.
They told me no time to fry the dumplings even though I paid for more for fried. Everyone at the restaurant left and they didn't provide compensation or full refunds. Managers were stressed and rude. Staff was a mess. This was during opening. Seems they have still not changed. I don't want to support a rude business that takes forever for something and makes excuses. There are thousands of good food places and this is not one of them.
Edit to reply: I don't speak Chinese. I would consider the restaurant again but after translating your reply, it is clear that I will never be going again. Your transaction name is "TASTE OF HOME HANDMADE DU AUSTIN TX". I have added proof. You gave us food vouchers on opening day. They say it never happened? Check Yelp, its still an old account. Liars.
I have proof. This has never happened? Nice. Don't attack me. This is not China. Customers are number one here and we have credit card protection rights.

Read moreI don’t usually write reviews, but I was so disappointed with this place that I have to write about it somewhere, perhaps so I can find some peace. I was so excited to try this restaurant. I love dumplings and the place looked promising. Unfortunately, the food was just not good at all. I ordered the cuttlefish dumplings with a side of bok choy (it’s in the menu as fried green cabbage or whatever they called it to ‘Americanize’ it). The lady who took our order was very nice, and I like that they allow you pay before you eat. Especially since if I had to pay after what I ate, I would probably have started crying. The price doesn’t match the quality of food, and that just pissed me off even more. I understand that bok choy is hard to prepare, I get it, BUT CAN YOU AT LEAST CLEAN IT??? I spent good money on this food, so I ate most of it before I noticed it was still dirty in between the leaves. Even before that the bok choy was all weird with warm and cold splotches (how was this even warmed up?), like cmon guys. I have no idea what the workers upfront are doing, because those dumplings have to be frozen. They definitely don’t taste like anything more than what you could find in the frozen aisle of a Sam’s Club. Like this cannot be real. I’m not even a picky eater, but something about this food just struck a bad chord with me. I’m sorry, the people who worked there were nice (thus the extra star) and my sister said the milk tea was good. But honestly, I could have had better dumplings at a food court and still have the money go buy a shirt or something, I’m just so disappointed and now my...
