Update 4/10: ended up going through my credit card for a chargeback. I contact the business directly to highlight issues and give them a chance to make things right, and I post a review for other customers to see what to expect. Thank you Happyrito for confirming every issue I pointed out and refusing to address them, and letting future customers know that their patronage is unnecessary. We all appreciate your candidness.
The last time (prior to this visit) I was in Happyrito was in March of 2023, and it was an awful experience. I had placed an order for Doordash, and my food was supposed to be ready in 18 mins. I ended up waiting at Happyrito for 1 hour and 17 minutes AFTER my order was supposed to be done. Fortunately Doordash easily gave me a refund (just for the food, not for wasting my time), and I gave up crawfish for the rest of the year, and fortunately in February 2024 Boiling Crab opened up so I was able to finally get my Viet-Cajun crawfish fix.
Fast forward to April 6, 2025 - I was craving but not in the mood to drive all the way to Boiling Crab so I placed an order through ToastTab for pickup, since it was what the business preferred. ETA was 19 minutes, but I still had PTSD so I ordered extra early when I got to HMart, fully expecting that the time it took me to shop and drive over would mean my food would be waiting for me when I got there. As soon as I checked out, my "due" time on ToastTab showed 35 minutes, not the 19. Ok, fine, I budget for that.
When I got to Happyrito, it was still a few minutes before the 35 mins but it's fine, because I was ignored by everyone who worked there anyways. No joke, I counted 8 people working there and not a single person talked to me even though I was standing directly in front of the register and there was no one else nearby. Granted, the people cooking probably wouldn't have come over, but clearly there was a team lead/manager walking around looking for things to refill and two front of house employees who felt that it was more important to wipe down a counter, go find a trash bag, or just walk around pretending to do something. Looking around, the restaurant was only about half full with no one waiting so there really wasn't exactly an urgency for them to do any of these things. A line is now building up behind me, and finally, the girl who was aimlessly walking around wiping down counters acknowledged my existence. It was only super awkward because we made eye contact like 5x already, but ok.
Surprise, my order isn't ready. No ETA of when it will be ready so I back away, and stand in between a trash can and a table. The ETA time came and went, and finally I got a text that my order was ready but when I went back to the front, they said "yea, we don't know why that happens but your order isn't ready." So back to the trash can area I go for another 9 minutes. I don't understand, boiling crawfish takes 5 mins, why did this order take nearly an hour?
I was shocked that I got a single plastic container for 2lbs. There was absolutely nothing else in the bag (FYI Boiling Crab togo gives a table liner, gloves, salt and pepper, limes). I weighed the crawfish when I got home, and it was 1lb, 13.8oz. Quality and taste-wise: it was a bit too salty and needed more a citrus component (like more OJ) since the wedge of lemon wasn't enough. I had a good variety of sizes, but the small ones were overcooked.
TLDR: I should have just made the drive to Boiling Crab - it would have been faster and I have never gotten less than...
Read moreLast night I had the most awful experience here. When we first walked in there were two families ordering ahead of us. The lady took their orders and then walked back to grab some food to serve some tables. It seemed a bit busy so I understood she was trying to get to everything. However, she didn’t acknowledge us standing there at all. No eye contact or anything just kept serving the tables. At that point I was honestly wondering if she realized we were waiting because we were standing there for what seemed like forever. I rang the service bell to get her attention and she turned around and said “yea I see you, give me a minute” a bit snarky. She seemed annoyed I rang the bell. Then it seemed like she was purposely taking long continuing to serve tables. At one point she acted like she was walking up to take our order then grabbed a cup and started rinsing it out. Then found another cup on the counter and started making a drink. At that point I was super upset and I said “we’re ready to put in our order” and she responded “I know, I’m busy!” I asked her what her name was and she said “Jasmine”. I told her she was extremely rude we’ve been waiting there forever and she hasn’t acknowledge us at all and she said “I told you give me a minute” (which was after I rang the bell to get her attention) I said we were leaving and she with a smart remark said “you can go, bye!” She was obviously overwhelmed with the the busyness, however her customer service was totally...

Original review: The crawfish here is Viet Cajun and it's one of the best places for it as far as flavor is concerned. The prices are fair and the quality is decent. Note that if you order extra sides like corn and potatoes you only get one corn and a couple potatoes, which weren't worth the price in our opinion. I do really like their soft-shell crab too.
Update: I ordered 5 lbs of crawfish during the peak of the season and the crawfish size here was very disappointing. By the end there was about a pound of extremely tiny ones that were barely edible and a ton of claws that had broken off other crawfish adding to the weight. This happened twice in a row. I contacted them on Instagram and the representative said they would give me a gift card for half off the next order of 5 lbs. but they never sent it. I haven't been in since, but I am hoping if I go back I will have a better experience. I understand that crawfish sizes are variable but adjust the pricing for lower quality batches like a nearby Cajun joint does.
Update 2: still have not received any response from the owner and I'm dropping it down another star. At least follow through with what you said you were going to do. Bad customer...
