When you walk in, not greeted, but the manager tells the girl to put them at the back. Then a group walks in behind us, and they are also "put in the back." The common denominator was they were African American, and my husband and kids are African American. We were all "put in the back." I needed to change my infants diaper, so I had to walk through the bar area past the front entrance through the main dining area and guess what. The tables weren't full. There was plenty of room for us to be seated with the "other folks" that had chosen to eat at this establishment. There were plenty of tables and staff. But we were "put at the back."
And then the service from the waitress she acted as if we were bothering her. Like we were an inconvenience to her. She took our drink order and came back a little later with our drinks and took our food order. Food came out, as always it was delicious but this whole experience just left a bad taste in my mouth. We were seated out of the way in the very back of the bar area directly next to the exit door, which we gladly used when we left, and a patitiin wall separating the bar tables from the tables and chairs.. The other group that was there was seated directly across from us behind a partition wall separating the seating area from the bar and kitchen.
It definitely gave the feel of we should have went around to the back door and ordered our food to go vibe. The manager, man, all the years I have been coming to eat here, bring family and friends, at this establishment. I have never been treated like this or made to feel like we were less than other people eating here. I am a white woman and didneven get a second glance when the manager saw me and then my kids and husband behind me, then less than 30 after we walked in the other group of 4 African American family walked in and we were all "put in the back."
I don't know if I feel comfortable coming back after all this time. In the current environment, next time, it could be worse than just made...
Read moreEvery thing is good but some waiters dont care customers and covid protocols at all !! I saw one of them has a big box that has many kind of disinfectant in it and they suppose to use on the tables after each customer .but the magic box just carried and dont be used !!! Not just one time ... Update : after couple months ...you are going down texican cafe ! Where is your quality ? Why dont you use experts ? Seriusly use experts in your kitchen ,bar and host ,you can use better waiters and waiteress .and please dont use rude ones like now .if you wanna be good like befor do some thing for yourself ... Update :After a few months, the food is still good, and they have tried to use new people for improvement, and this can be seen and is admirable, but the key point for a restaurant is its staff, the quality of food is the best advertisement for a restaurant and the reason why customers return to that restaurant. To a large extent, this restaurant has this, but let's not forget that the restaurant staff are the link between the customer and the restaurant and play a key role. As a customer, if the food is very good, but I don't get a good and friendly feeling from the staff, I prefer not to go there. I will not come back again, the problem of this restaurant is that it does not pay much attention to the selection of the crew, and except for the few people who are good in that restaurant, the rest are very rude and not customer-oriented, and they easily take away that good feeling from the customer and cause the quality of the food not to be seen at all. So the main point is to choose a good, friendly and polite...
Read moreUsually love this place. But I just don’t know what happened today. The manager had to take care of us which we truly appreciated and he was great.. However, karla was our waitress we had before she was replace with the manager. She was rude and incompetent to be in customer services let alone a waitress. I ordered an enchilada dish and asked the waiter if she could make sure the dish had enough sauce because lately the sauce hasn’t even been enough to even drip on the plate or even cover the whole enchiladas.. She told me that I’d have to pay extra sauce. I tried to explain nicely that I’m not actually asking for extra sauce that I’m asking for the amount of sauce that is reasonable for enchiladas (the way before they changed the amount just recently) . The waitress then told me, "well what else do you want then?” . We’ve been coming here for over 3 years with no problem and I was astonished by her response because she pretty much was trying too imply that I should change my order because I was asking for enchilada sauce to cover my enchiladas! This is when I asked to speak to the manager who explained that she was new and what I was requesting was not a big deal. I’ve came here time and time again and have asked the same from other waitresses and there was no problem what so ever. This is enchilada sauce not meat or a side! I thought the whole thing was ridiculous, rude and uncalled for. Kudos to the manager, he took care of us and we appreciate that. We LOVE coming here but tonight it left such a bad taste in my mouth that I don’t think we will be visiting...
